Apple is Still Apple - Sue After Stealing...
« on: April 19, 2011, 11:20 PM »
Oh god... Apple is at it again... Bigger, badder, and douchier than ever!

Apple sues Samsung for 'slavishly copying' its iPhone and iPad designs

http://www.dailymail...ml?ito=feeds-newsxml

Apple said in court papers: 'Samsung has made its Galaxy phones and computer tablet work and look like Apple's products through widespread patent and trade dress infringement...

'By this action, Apple seeks to put a stop to Samsung's illegal conduct and obtain compensation for the violations that have occurred thus far.'

Apple sues Samsung for patent violation and design plagiarism

In the letter of demand Apple stated that:”Instead of innovating and developing its own technology and a unique Samsung style for its smartphones and tablets,Samsung chose to copy Apple’s technology, user interface and innovative style in these infringing products.’In its petition, which was submitted to the District Court of North Carolina,Apple mentioned the patents registered in 2009 and 2010,and refers to the aesthetic design, both in form and icons. In addition,Apple stated that the Galaxy Tab has a rectangular design very similar to iPad,with its rounded black edges.

But...

Verifuckation:

I have ZERO respect for Apple.

I won't say what I really think because it involves obscene acts with... Well... Use the darkest and most perverted recesses of your imagination...

An analysis:

In response, Samsung’s best bet is to argue that its products and packaging aren’t confusingly similar, and if that doesn’t work, to somehow prove that consumers aren’t actually being confused.

Then again, they could simply show that they did it first...

Right now, Microsoft, Apple, and Oracle are suing everyone in tech. Patents are indeed a lawyer's best friend. Renegade's link provides the blow-by-blow or how ridiculous this all is on its face! (A lot like Microsoft suing for "text selection.") Apple essentially wants to sue anyone who makes a phone, much less uses one.

I hope this is just a demonstration of how worried they are about the soon to be pointless iPhone - not long now for android to completely dominate.

Sounds like an intro for a BBW porn star. Kinda fitting for Apple... pretty, bloated and constantly trying to sit on everyone's face.  :P

I got my hands on a Samsung Android just yesterday- the interface was way more advanced than an iPhone's, but what impressed me most was the thing being as light as a feather!

I really hope that Apple does win this one, those fscking douchebags. But we all know how demented the whole system is, and that showing prior work isn't necessarily good enough. Bastards.

Since round-cornered squares are conceptually derivative of silly walks, someone tweet John Cleese and the gang!

My phone (LG Cosmos) is also rectangular with rounded edges - which phones aren't might I ask. It also has a menu which is just a grid of icons. When I look at most of my carrier's phones (Verizon), many fit that description. Maybe Samsung should start making phones shaped as trapezoids and circles.

...Or a squishy shapeless phone that double as a stress ball ... That'll help with those pesky dropped calls.

Dropped calls is really a feature only US carriers have added to their cellular networks... :P

As everyone knows though, it's all just plain nonsense. I for one don't blame the companies, the patents should never have benn awarded in the first place. Look at this latest victory for a patent owner - Google Linux servers hit with $5m patent infringement verdict.

The things that are quoted as infringing upon patents existed long before the original patents were filed. Companies should be sued/fined for filing such malicious patents.
