ok, new version up without the code to check for another running copy -
tenseiken would you mind testing this version and see if it helps?

(no need for jeffk test on this one).

I'll test it as soon as I get home from work.

Edit: It works about 95% of the time now.  About the only time it screws up is when I exit and then quickly run it again.  If I give it a couple seconds, it consistently works fine.

Cool.  Do you have anything in mind at the moment?

yes, ive added a ton of features already; will be uploading a new version shortly.

reorganized options.
some cool effects which can be used to highlight the active window in a screenshot (my fav new feature).
cursor capture options; better support for multimon capturing
better save and autoname options.

other things planned:
ability to specify more external tools to invoke.
save comments in png images.
auto detection of active window/exe name for use in file naming.

other ideas are welcome - keep in mind the approach ive taken is to be very minimal on image editing, with the expectation that you will do this in an external editor (which the program should make as easy as possible to invoke), and focused more on facilitating fast and easy capture of lots of images one after the other.

version 1.01.02 is now up (same url):
[link out of date]

tons of new stuff.

hopefully no more crashing :)

Make sure you check out the new organized options page.

suggestions wanted, i'll probably make a page for this in my downloads section this week.

If you're upgrading, you'll probably want to clear your filename prefix field on the main window, since there is now a separate field in the options dialog that servers the purpose that this field used to serve.

Still works fine for me.  The new options panel is great, and I like the dimming and greying options.

minor update with better undo support (ctrl+z).

i think the feature set has stabilized enough now for me to update the help file and start tracking version changes.

v1.01.05 - you can now add as many custom external tools as you want to the Tools menu.
