but this is a format i don't know how to capture.

one such tool is:
http://rtmpdump.mplayerhq.hu/ but i couldn't get it to work. maybe the youtube flash downloaders will work -- or you could try Orbit downloader, that may work. Net Transport did not know how to handle the protocol.
