I have been using CHS without problems for many years on Windows XP and Vista. A great program! After upgrade to Windows 7 I received the follwowing error codes:
DBISAM Engine Error # 11949 SQL Parsing error – expected expression but instead found ) in SELELCT SQL statement at line 1 column 58
DBISAM Engine Error # 12035 The table Cliptable is not the correct version
Tablegroups: Field “Index” not found Cannot focus a disabled or invisible window
They appear at startup and the first one - DBISAM Engine Error # 11949 - everytime I use the paste menu hotkey
Deinstallation and Re-Install in another directory didn't change anything.
I also tried: "Verify or Repair Database.." without success.
Do you have any clues? Please help ...

i will test on windows 7 and see what i see. for now can i suggest you make a copy of your backup clips in a safe place just to preserve them in the meantime, while i look for a fix.

on thing i would be especially interested in hearing is, if you back up all of your data file safely, and then delete them and start from scratch, do you still get the error?

Thanks a lot for the fast reply! I tried: "Backup database Now" and it gave me the error message: DBISAM Backup failed - Your database was * NOT * backed up ...

just exit chs and manually back up your clipboard help+spell directory, in program files AND in your MyDocuments area, and zip those up and put them someplace safe.

Ok, I can do it, but I don't need the database. If this makes it easier to fix the bug ...

I am getting the same problem as you: I downloaded Clipboard Help + Sepll on a new Windows 7 System. It worked fine for a while, but then I got an error DBISAM 12035 about two weeks after initial installation upon startup. I uninstalled and re-installed, but got the same error message immediately and have since uninstalled again until there is a fix. Love the program though.

Ok let me see if i can track down the cause.. Here's a thought -- if one of you feels comfortable sending me your "corrupted" clipboard history data file from CHS, then zip up the Clipboard Help+Spell \ Database directory in your MyDocuments area and mail it to: mouser@donationcoder.comI will treat it with utmost privacy but i also understand if you'd rather not send it.

No can do. As I uninstalled and reinstalled, I didn't back-up any of the clips (there were only a handful anyway) and now every time I copy something to the clipboard, in Word 2007 or Wordpad, nothing is transferred to Clipboard Help and Spell. It is totally blank. Create a new clip item - nothing happens. Create a new group or the first time I copy something to the clipboard from Word or Wordpad: First pop-up: "TableGroups: Cannot perform this operation on a closed dataset." Second pop-up: "TabelGroups: Field 'Index' not found."
I am also getting different DBISAM errors on other programs, either Access or Excel, haven't looked into it yet. I had installed many non-Win 7 software using the compatibility settings for XP or Vista. This eventually caused all kinds of problems: Chrome froze, Paint Shop Pro froze, IE8 froze. I since removed almost all non Win 7 programs, and now it functions better, but of course I would like Clipboard Help and Spell.

I'm getting similar errors. DBISAM Engine Error # 8961 Header information corrupt in the table 'ClipTable' TableGroups: Field 'Index' not found. Essentially doing anything will result in this error. I've reinstalled multiple times, and I just installed this OS a week ago. The program worked fine on this PC before my reformat. Windows 7 Ultimate x64 2.40GHz Intel Core 2 Quad Nvidia 8800 GTS 4.5GB RAM, Dx11

Is anyone else who encountered this problem using Microsoft Security Essentials as their antivirus (or not?)

I had a similar issue in Vista due to the UNC network path that my documents folder is setup to use. I just changed the ini to portable mode, and it worked just fine.

are you encountering the errors or are you just concerned about the possibility?
