As a web developer, I wouldn't trust them.

1. As scancode mentions, their BBCode seem to be copy/paste.
2. I viewed the source of their homepage, and it. Is. Terrible! A webhost should go through the troubles of properly validating their (X)HTML.

Maybe it's just me, but I wouldn't choose a host who uses 8 style sheets for such a minimalistic homepage.

i didnt look at the page source, but the page appearance itself is nice enough.

it's one thing to complain about someone posting something a bit more advertisey than we like, but i think it's not quite in the donationcoder spirit to start saying bad things about people's sites and designs.  think how you would feel if you posted your website on a forum and all of a sudden people were criticizing it, etc.

let's endeavor to provide constructive criticism and not negativity.

Hello guys, and thanks for your concerns.

Our front page recently underwent some updates, which is why the original code is in need of some cleaning up. The original design is also a little tricky to code, seeing as it also must be updated regularly. Regardless we are in the business of providing web hosting, which is what we channel most of our energy into. The design as a whole though we feel is fairly attractive as far as web hosting sites go.

I also apologize if the post itself is a little advertisey, but it seems to be the best way to present so much information in a manner that can be read easily. I have fixed the BBcode issues with the URLs.

Regards

I understand that you are trying to focus on hosting first but people looking for hosting have different criteria to judge is it reliable for them.

As for me: I always take a look on source code. If it's messy: I don't believe that I can trust the company. Like with people: even if someone is good coder you will feel uneasy observing that he is always picking his nose. No matter is he wears the suit or not Wink

BTW What do multiple HEAD tags (and html cosing) do on your page (line #3 and #66)? Or what is the purpose of strange hrefs for links (fsdf, /)?

We have purposely made the code messy in some areas to make it more difficult for people who want to rip our website, as we grow our website will further be the way that our clients and potential clients identify with us, and is a key component in our branding strategy. The last thing we want is people ripping it, and while they can still rip the website as is, it is more difficult to rip now than if the code was super clean.

Believe me, it's easy enough to rip it as-is.
BUT, for example, I use a screenreader, and your site is barely accessible for me. Web standards are there for a reason!
Here's some sample output from Fangs (the screenreader simulator for Firefox)

A pretty sight, huh?
