Google Browser - No, Not Chrome! (what's that?)

A street survey conducted by Google in NYC. I'm sure things don't get much better in other places.

So, what's your browser? I'm into flapjacks.

That's great! It reminds me of when I try to ask people if they use webmail or an e-mail client, it usually takes a few minutes to explain the differences.

And here I thought not bundling IE with Windows was going to be a minor inconvenience... this explains many things about the relationship between normal users and modern computers.

It's like asking the brand of your gas pedal. Who cares nobody is interested in it they all get things done. Not a popular viewpoint in the techie circles I'm sure.

I agree with you completely. This clip reminded me about the feeling I had when I received some "famous" link to survey which was "proving" how stupid U.S. citizens are (KFC guy ;)).

Things you don't know do not matter. It is always more important what you can do with an amount of knowledge you've already got.

You don't need to know how to distillate gasoline from oil to be good driver :)

i know someone that thought "googlemail" was the "internet" because they started every browsing session by logging into their gmail account.

this person had also been online for several years - not that they went online that often to be honest.

but, yeah, definitely. your average user doesn't care what a "browser" is. it's just that window that opens up that shows you "amazon, ebay, google, etc."

I have a friend who thinks she can 'nudge' me on Windows Live when I'm not signed in!
