426  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Searching4: print PDFs as Poster on: May 26, 2006, 05:52:42 AM
Thank you Carol,

but no, i can't make the output size bigger in my printer driver (LJ4100)
not to talk about any "Poster Printing" option Sad

So i need an other printer driver, or 'FinePrint' , thinking that can do such things.
I will search for an freeware alternative for FinePrint.

Thanks

Hi all,

i want to print out some of my PDFs (calendars, quick sheets,...)
of more than one DIN A 4 (i.e. 'letter' ) -papers, but how ????

I can print more then one PDF-page on one DIN-A4/letter paper (4 => 1)
but how to resize one PDF-page to four papers (1 => 4) ?

I found tools like Posterazor, Posteriza or Rasterbator, but i seams the work with pics only.
If i would make a shoot of the PDF and increase the size, i am shure i can't read the words anymore.

I could resize the AcroReader window and increase the zoom and print out
a few of this zoomed views and stick the output somehow together....

but is there not an easier way ?

..the mini one...
see this as appetizer ... included an readme.html file (in many languages) with links to
the other downloads. (one causing more to need ppl to visit DC (maybe the app they loaded
from one of this download providers, but for the help the have to visit us) )

Also in the mini help there should be an hint about this.

Sorry mouser, but an 7,5meg download for v2.15.01 is way to much.

Please split the download into
Additional Help.chm 3,5MB
Clips ~2,5MB
and Main prog with an small help ~1,5MB

That's more resonable for an Scrennshoter, even is it as good as Captor.
What do you think?  undecided

But the little support for extracting setups, created with NSIS, is taken out.
The users from NSIS don't want this behaviour, the are afraid to loss there secrets.
(Hint: use nsis.dll from 7z v4.40)

Hi Cavalcader,
i don't know if you need one,
but here a lil howto...

1 -  open the scissor pic in graphic editor
2 - fill the two finger holes with an color you didn't need in the picture, in our case maybe yellow
3 - save the scissor with transparence, in *.gif or *.png , and choose the yellow color as
the transparent color.

In some editor you have to set the yellow as transparence first and save then as *.gif or *.png.

Reading this thread i am thinking about my start menu with a lot of items
Good idea! But the program we talked about above, File Sieve, sounds perfect for that task. smiley
By the way, I like your avatar! Is that a particular comic character, or did you make it?
Hi Cavalcader  smiley
I make this just for fun, that was an task i could manage with my skill  Grin
The Avatar i found somewhere over the rainbow  cheesy {i.e. in the net} (reminds me to the 'Gorillaz', or how is this band named *scratchingmyhead* ?)

*harrumph*

Reading this thread i am thinking about my start menu with a lot of items  smiley
I have clean up them bevor by hand and have move every folder
into an subfolder with his intial char.
Reading this thread i got fun to play around with AHK
and automat my next claening action with an script  Grin

So i have writen this over the day in my rest times. (i call it 'Stefans 8 hour software'  Sad )

I am no pro! So use this on your own risk and with test files first!!!

The script works in that directory from where it is executed.
There are NO exceptions.... just create a dir (if not already exists) with an inital from 0-9 and from A- Z or smtg like '_'
and move ALL files/folders into that folders. That's all.

----
EDIT:
oh, i have overseen to finish the cancel option (ESC::ExitApp), i will try how to implement this option later.
(This option is for cancel the script if it is executed by accident or run into trouble)

I always used Spiderzilla myself.

spiderzilla is a front-end for HTTrack for to use this with FireFox.

I forgot FreeDownloadManager in my list.
443  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Free tool to download a complete website on: April 24, 2006, 10:43:51 AM
WebReaper, HTTrack, yes i think about this both too. The later works as command line tool too.

I loved to use an program i found at first, some years ago, 'cus it's so lean, easy and simple:
Web Downloader Wd22de Build 43 (de means german, there are other Lang's too)

Then there is also (widthly untested) :
webcow - http://subfiles.net/webcow/
Curl - http://curl.haxx.se/changes.html
GetLeft
WatzNew i think <?>
WGet <?>
hmm, whats else?
444  DonationCoder.com Software / Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: Password Protect CD/DVD on: April 24, 2006, 08:29:26 AM
Sometimes we need to add some security to our files, and we want to protect the data on cds or dvds from prying eyes.
[...]
What I'm requesting is to add a small file to your cds or dvds that will encrypt your files (data and filenames) without copying or leaving traces on the computer, with an option at creation to autorun, and password protect the files.
[...]

How about TrueCrypt ?
TrueCrypt makes an container file with all your own files inside.
The TrueCrypt.exe needs no install, just start, mount your container and
 wrote your password /phrase - then start your application from this container.

Q: Is it possible to mount a TrueCrypt container that is stored on a CD or DVD?
A: Yes, it is. [...]

Q: Is it possible to use TrueCrypt without leaving any 'traces' on Windows?
A: Yes. This can be achieved by running TrueCrypt in traveller mode under BartPE.  [...]

TrueCrypt can be found here ==>  http://www.truecrypt.org/

Little Update for Lesson 4 since i was asked in other forums.

Since i miss often older clipboard item
i increased the number of item's that CLCL should store:
[attachimg=1]

To handle this large amount of stored items
i set up my pop-up menu's.

I go to "Options | Action | Menu    Click on left...."
[attachimg=2]

- Now i set first "History()" to 0-10

- Add an Pop-Up as sub menu and called it &A Next ten (11-20)
   |__ add and set an second History() to 11-20

- Add an Pop-Up as sub menu and called it &B Next ten (21-30)
   |__ add and set an third History() to 21-30

- Add an Pop-Up as sub menu and called it &C Next 25 (31-56)
   |__ add and set an fourt  History() to 31-56

- Add an Pop-Up as sub menu and called it &D Older (from 57th -)
   |__ add and set an fifth History() to 57-
[attachimg=3]

My pop-up looks like this:
[attachimg=4]
The first 10 items i can reach with the number keys 0,1,2... till 9.
The second 10 items i can reach by pressing the 'A'-key and then the 0,1,2... keys
The next by pressing the 'B'-key first...

Additional tip:
you can copy this "Menu    Click on left...." item,
see the [Copy]-button...
and give this new copy an other hotkey.
So i can reach this popup
from the tray icon by an left click
AND now by pressing the WIN-key and the 'V'-key the same time.
[attachimg=5]
