it looks like you need TWO helpers to carry this piece of 'SchlepTop'
(it's an german joke for this heavy LapTops of the '80s. 'SchleppTop'  sounds like 'LapTop' in german)

Here is the next generation of DELL Laptops:

Hello dandersahn,
welcome to the community!

If you already use AHK you could add this piece of code into your AutoHotkey.ini
or use this as stand alone script:

qres.ahk
Quote
^!1:: Run qres.exe /x:640 ; Ctrl+Shift+1 Changes resolution to 640 x 480.
^Numpad2:: Run qres.exe /x 1280 /y 1024 ;Ctrl+NumPad2 Changes resolution to 1280 x 1024.

The qres.exe must be in the same folder as the AHK script (or change the path in the script).

i admit it takes a while to get it right - once you are happy with the result don't untie it - just loosen it enough to slip over your head, then you won't have to do it every again.

435  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Improve SINGLE-Object-Capturing on: September 17, 2006, 04:48:13 AM
I don't know if this is possible with your engine
or how many work this is...

... but for documention work we need to capture single obects at easy.

Please see the following pic,... i think SC can "only"  capture the 'good' marked ones?

[attachimg=1]

But i need smt to capture single objects as they i mark with 'better'
Is it possible to improve the single object capturing for you?

Thanks

I love SC!, so here i am again, sorry  Sad

you can zoom in the preview window with mouse wheel and left+right click, as long as you turn off the auto fit checkbox.

there are advantages to the mini window:
1) its faster to display because its simpler and doesnt user thumbnail explorer browser.
Thumbnails never was an problem, even with manys of them.  cheesy
The time problem was every the time needed to save the shot, till i can work with him. (~1GHz,500MB and ~700Hz,750MB)

Quote
2) nice and small (if you resize it small)
If i resize it small, the capture preview is also small and useless cheesy

Quote
so it dont disturb your other work.
Every extra click... cheesy
Quote
3) you can just hit quick keys for keep, discard, print.
In SC main window too  cheesy
Quote
4) doesnt autosave.. i might still add this to main sc.
If you find time... thanks. cheesy

damn i thought abterix was going to love this feature  Cry
Grin i do love the preview and the discard button!
But i didn't see the benefit of see this new window then SCwindow itself!
I only see an another step if i choose to work farther on with this current capture.
And if i want to drop this shot i can do this in SCwindow directly.

The only good (for me) is the part that you not immediately save the capture to disk.
But the preview i (i !) like to have in the SCwindow, where i can crop or zoom it
and see than if i wanna keep it.

Quote
let me make clear this is a totally optional dialog.  in the OnCapture options tab (and
now also from manu) you can tell it what to do when a new screenshot is taken (restore
main window, dont restore main window, and now this quick popup dialog).
yes, i have seen this option.

So allow me again my older question
"why you didn't use SC to preview the capture bevor the user choose to save it?"

My old request is still an option "[X]Auto save Capture" in [On capture - General]
which i would let disabled most of the time.
Sorry i have to went offline soon (23:45)cheesy

But it seams most of the other user like this new dialog, so it's fine too (for the moment:)
442  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Comments on ScreenshotCaptor - Beta Version - 2.12.01 to 2.24.01 on: September 10, 2006, 11:11:00 AM
Sorry, what is this? An preview without saving?
That's what i want a long time ago.
But i want have this in SC himself, not in an extra window.

Where do you 'store' this preview pic? TEMP? RAM?
Why can this not be done with SC window self?

And this buttons in the new preview window
are also in the SC window, till the "Discard"-Button.
So what is the benefit????

Hmm, also i like such an preview and this discard feature,
but an extra window is (for me) senseless.
It's an extra step with an extra click. For documentation i do often
a many shots and this extra window would disturb me.
But saving every shot automaticly to disc disturbs me also, 'cos it cost so much time.

445  DonationCoder.com Software / fSekrit / Re: Brute Force hacking possible? on: September 08, 2006, 12:37:14 AM
If people use weak passwords, they shouldn't really be dealing with cryptography anyway.
That's wrong. People are people. They do use 'weak' PWs because they are easy to remember.
And it's better people use weak PWs then they do nothing to care there own infos.
It's challenge of the coder to help people in any way to protect them and there data, not to
say 'you are a looser if you can't remember "x$4kHa8"' (BTW, i don't wanna push you to do what you don't
want, we just talking about, right?) I know the PWs of a many user and they are "holliday" "2006"
"daughter's name" "pet's name"...

Peace  Kiss

How bad (or "It is a pity." ? sorry, don't know the right term)

------------
>But if your friends aren't going to respect a read-only copy,
>perhaps you shouldn't give them a copy in the first place
Nothing to do with respect (i will be respected, hmm, i must ask tommorow!)
but people are people, the wanna do there own things.
Giving out an r/o exe would give use more consistence in this things

----------------
> perhaps it only need check if the file itself is readonly,

"readonly flag"-thing doesn't helps me of course.

It can take 4 years.... but also 4 min. by chance.

> or you might use a weak password from a dictionary
As most people do, that's why i ask to prevent a hole in fSekrit.

448  DonationCoder.com Software / fSekrit / Re: Read only password support? on: September 07, 2006, 07:32:19 AM
But what is to stop somebody from copy/paste to a new note,
then overwrite the original exe file with that?
Hmm  huh  ohmy  embarassed
Yes, that's right. If they have access to an original fSekrit exe ...
Hmm BTW: will there be a fSekrit version without About-box and fSekrit in the title?  cheesy
If no one knows where this secret little exe comes from....

I'm still considering it smiley
Aha, thanks.  smiley

Thing is, a user could still copy the text and paste it into a new document.
Yes, that's OK. But than i can still reffer to the original exe and say "Use this!"
If the can modify the original exe, no one can say what is the correct one after a short time.

Unless you want to disable clipboard functionality?
Than the make a quick screen shot with screenshot captor. :-)  cheesy  Grin

A read-only mode *could* be useful though, I guess, for stopping accidental saves and such. I'm still considering it.
I don't think it'll make it in v1.2, though - I'm trying not to add *to* much new stuff with each relase, but keeping the program stable. I hope smiley
Thank you.
