just FYI

1. in the download package are two *.dll.pec2bac files left

2. in the help (great work BTW) are still 'Ctrl+D' shortcuts instead of 'Ctrl+Q'
- What if I don't want to keep the capture? -> You can delete the current image by simply hitting Ctrl+D, or...
- Miscelaneous (Miscellaneous?;-) Tips and Tricks -> Hit Ctrl+D to delete the current image.
428  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Poster Printer - free (open source) on: July 19, 2006, 02:16:48 AM
Thanks for this find!
I have search for a tool like this ~6 weeks ago.

I think "rasterbator" is a tool to load an image and print this.
"PosterPrinter" acts as printer... you can use it from any application like WORD or PDF-Reader.

I will try PP as i find same calm minutes.

Very nice review and informations, thank you all.

Maybe one don't know this tools....

For seeing movies and DVD i use mplayer.  ~ 3-4 MB
There is a nice frontend <MPUI> to make using mplayer very easy.
I have now no codecs installed, Mplayer have them build in.
Mplayer and MPUI is stand alone (no registry access and portable)

For hearing mp3 i use <1by1 > ~ 50-100kB
He is also portable with ini file.
1by1 can use WinAmp input.dll's
Most i like that 1by1 is an "directory player" i.e. there is no play list needed....just browse your hard disc and listen.

And yes, i have an WinAmp 2.9 folder with all needed plugins too  cheesy

432  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Print-out size-problem on: July 12, 2006, 08:31:50 AM
a reasonable print? - yeah i don't know how to explain.

Maybe smtg like
"if the screen shot width and height is the half of the SC screen (maximized)
then the 'normal' print out should use the half of the paper too".

i.e. the 'normal' print out should print in a size as the 100% screenshot preview is big.
(If the screenshot is bigger than the SC screen, than 'autofit' it and print this on an paper)
{just an another idea is to print larger shots on two papers, but that's an other story}

I know there is dpi and resolution, DIN A4 and letter too, i have no glue how to code this.

wrt your hint... 'cus of the small print preview i don't see if the quality is good enough.

Is this understandable?
433  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Print-out size-problem on: July 12, 2006, 06:47:08 AM
- i take an screen shot (300x300dpi) with v2.18.03
- i crop it
- i have a 100% preview

- i wanna print this shot

- but the size of the picture are either to small (normal)
or to big (fit to side)
or i must set the size my self to get an reasonable print out.

Do i smtg wrong ?
How can i get an reasonable print out without tweeking the settings?
434  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Option to NOT save to file? on: July 12, 2006, 06:40:53 AM
Feature request: I'd enjoy an option to not save my screencaps to files. ...
I second this feature wish (of course, u know tongue)

"delete all images in screenshot directory"
This is no solution for me.
I on my own didn't want to delete ALL screenshots.
To NOT save by default is an logically way to me.

"jv16 PowerTools" or his older "RegCleaner 4.3.0.780" are better for to remove ShellNew entries.

That's clever thumbs up. Remembers me to the O'Reilly books.

What's about the Epson driver/print dialog. Are the as feature rich as the Canon one we talked about last days?

I have used tools like "NaviScope" or "MyVitalAgent" (non FF tools)
to see what goes on when a side is loaded: 13 from 30 pics loaded/1,324kB to download/38% done/ wait for responce/...
or like this.

Question: is there an FF ex to see such infos too?
444  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Firefox Extensions: Your favorite or most useful on: June 03, 2006, 07:09:24 PM
Thank U Carol
for the link to  http://www.scotsnewsletter.com/best_of/firefox.htm

so i found

Tab Clicking Options let's you select an action to perform
with different clicking events on the tab bar or a tab

from http://twanno.mozdev.org/tabclicking/index.html

now i can doubleclick an tab to close it.

Edit:
Arrg, my "Tab Mix Plus" ex have this option too. I've overseen this.
445  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: [Help] I want to remove some entries from the context menu on: June 03, 2006, 06:55:45 PM
Well, cleaning the registry by hand could be a long way.
You have to go to classes root, search for "ShellNew"-key unter unwanted .* extension entry
like CLASSES_ROOT\.doc\ShellNew | NullFile

A tool 4U could be
ShellMenuView
Web Site: http://www.nirsoft.net/

others are
jv16 RegCleaner
jv16 PowerTools 1.3.0.195 (last uncripped freeware)
EasyCleaner from http://personal.inet.fi/b...ness/toniarts/ecleane.htm
RegSeeker from http://www.hoverdesk.net/

all must only be unzipped, or installed once only, then copy the install folder

447  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Searching4: print PDFs as Poster on: May 28, 2006, 04:16:04 PM
You could buy a cheap Canon printer for that and use their drivers (which do everything on that list as standard) ;-)
Really ? Fine! That are facts i love to hear. I don't care about n page per minute
or such tec facts. To see how things work (like driver frontend) i take higher. But
that is not that what you see in prospects or on the market.
The same with TV and video (well, DVD players now), most thing i want
to try bevor i buy is the remote control, no matter wich model is better in the prospect.

But i have to print out on an HP LaserJet  smiley ,
my HP DescJet 500C at home is lost under a cover of dust for years  cheesy

Thanks for the help!
We should open threads like "How pleased are you with your printer/scanner driver" , should i ?
448  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Searching4: print PDFs as Poster on: May 28, 2006, 09:21:00 AM
Thank you for that tip, i will try this next week.

Posters are designed to expand one page onto multiple pages
to make it larger. It requires some trimming and taping,
but you can make some impressive posters.

449  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Searching4: print PDFs as Poster on: May 26, 2006, 06:26:12 AM
FinePrint didn't do that (found v4.65 as TBYB on my HDD)
450  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: Searching4: print PDFs as Poster on: May 26, 2006, 05:52:42 AM
Thank you Carol,

but no, i can't make the output size bigger in my printer driver (LJ4100)
not to talk about any "Poster Printing" option Sad

So i need an other printer driver, or 'FinePrint' , thinking that can do such things.
I will search for an freeware alternative for FinePrint.

Thanks
