Let me just point out that if you simply added the file paths to a text file, with one line per file, it would be trivial to use a simple FARR alias to display and search this list of files on demand, using the #filecontents function of FARR.

What is 'simply' for you masters of coding can give a nightowL like me the kind of headache like... KWAZZAAAAM!

But unbelievable, I managed to create an beginning by using FARR and understand at least a part of how/what it works.
It asks a whole different way of thinking that I'm not used to, but I think when I finally get more used to it.....  Thnx!!

working with a shell-type extension, or anything deeply integrated into the context menu, it's a right PITA to support across the differing Windows OSes

Think I know what you mean, like the 64bit or 32 version (what confused me many times, without being deeply integrated  :D)

I'm gonna check out the tool and headback when I got some results.

28
Presets (i.e., "play at 1.6x speed") and an easy way to increase/decrease speed would be great

Winamp had a built in option for that. It can be found when going to 'plugins' and select 'DSP Effect.'
As far as I know most versions include the 'Nullsoft Processing Studio' (or in anyway you can choose
to install it when installing winamp custom mode). The Lite versions might not include it- not sure about
that. Anyway, within the newly loaded plugin you can choose 'Load preset' to find a whole bunch of
ready-made effects, including a nifty pitching tool you can shift in realtime. Screenshot below gives
an better view  :)

AV Media Copy is no longer to be found

h0wdy!

Thnx for all, but... that's not realy what I'm looking for. I already have great extensions for my mediaplayer from which I can build playlists and copy the
files directly from the program. I''m more looking towards a utility that marks the files in Windows Explorer- by colored tags for instance. And the ultimate
possible thing would be that this can be handled from within Winamp as well- or the other way around. Example: I favorite a winamp track and copy the
item to a pre-defined folder. The original file stays in the original directory only gets color marked.

I'm still looking into the options for this regarding FARR. And I did some browsing. Actually came across a tool that allows the marking of files. Sadly the
free version is very limited. I was hoping to find a freeware-like program: Rainbowfolders does a great job on colored tagging (but like it says, with folder).

BlackBird.

It would also have been a perfect name for a Twitter-client  8)

using the #filecontents function of FARR.

I am still bit of a noob: started out with AutoHotkey which went great at first. Than, during my more chaotic episodes in time I lost track at some point. Started out a similar kind of
adventure with Python. So basicly I am still very far from it all. But I have used FARR... will check it out later tonight. It doesnt sound to difficult just yet so there's hope  :D

34
One quick comment.  While the entirety of the idea seems very specific to your needs, one small part of it seems like it might be generally useful

Yes absolutely!
This might come in handy for .pdf /.txt and so on. Thought about that before. I have no idea on how to embed it but you could think like what twitter uses (hashtagging).
Maybe its even possible to add #private #2016 somewhere inside the metadata. Or put it directly at the end of a filename?

~~brainstorming enabled~~

h0wdy!

This idea is brainstorming the quantum computer- 'also known as the inside of my head' -for some time now.
I'll try to make this as briefly as possible: It all starts with my music collection. I have a pretty big MP3-releases
task which generates around 10gb (or more) of new albums and/or ep's, monthly! Because I try to check all of
them out (I know, that blows my mind everytime I realize it) there isn't always enough time to do some descent
sorting: and not enough time often means less overview and more getting lost.

I have been lost on several ways my life... * bla bla bla * (off-topic situation has been blocked by blaat.vbs)

We are getting closer at the actual 'issue:' best of/favorite tracks. While checking all of these tracks out often
I hear some sounds that deserve the awesomeness rating. Tracks I really diggg. One solution for that is by using
a simple but great Winamp plugin. Actually, two plugins. The one I use most is 'Send-To' plugin: basicly you point
a folder on your computer where you would like to store favorite tracks. After that all that it takes is clicking the
right mouse button on a track of choice directly from within the Winamp Playlist. And BOOOM. It's done.

SendTo.png

The second plugin is 'Yar-matey! Playlist Copier.' It also adds a context menu item- but this one appears in the
main menu context (the older versions < v1.07).

gen_yar.png

Another option: LastFM. Anyway, for me it once added nice functionality. But since they changed to the newstyled version of the
service, they basicly killed it. They really pissed me off (and many others) on removing the build in export functions. Those where
a big part of the reason I was using the audioscrobbler in the first place. I still use the scrobbler these days, but more as an extra
until the day that something else pops up...

** but ain't no popping much for long long time
in a galaxy far far away... **

 ★ :. . • ○ ° ★ . * . . ¸ . ° ¸. * ● ¸ . ...somewhere ° ☾ ° ¸. ● ¸ . ★ ° :. .

After years, suddenly... POPPPPP!
And here is where you guys blend in, hopefully. Just imagine with me...
What if you can right click any mp3 file in Windows Explorer and there was a context menu item that makes it possible to mark/tag
a track as favorite? What if that mark is not only placed inside the id3 (or elsewhere).. but what if it also makes the file.mp3 in
explorer more visual. Like a user given change of color in text or text background- like an actual marker? To give you an better idea
I made a screenshot of a folder an edited it with paint. So I faked it, but you get the picture!

Screenshot_2.png

This would be the most basic concept. If it is possible to code into something, that might turn out to be pretty damn cool. From
there I have a bunch of other idea's- but I'll save them for now until the party started. Just wonder what your opion(s) are on this
subject. Thank you for your time so far, hope something good will evolve from it ..

 :)

What's the Best? / Re: What's the best Journal (Diary) software?
« on: August 01, 2016, 10:20 AM »
More than just an Journal/diary keeper is the awesome (sometimes even weird) 'Makagiga.' It's the most allround
personal information organizer I have seen so far and you can extend it's functions with plugins on and on and on...
You can install it, but also use it as an portable program.

Homepage
http://makagiga.sourceforge.net/index.html

'It allows you to organize all your tasks, meetings, events and other related information in an easy way.
Besides that, the program can display a visual or audio notification when a meeting or task is due. Furthermore,
it can store various multimedia elements, like website links, images and plain text. What's more, the program's
added data can be exported to a wide range of file formats.'

We Are the Strange is an independent animated film directed by M dot Strange. It uses stop motion, CG artwork, and greenscreen effects. The film premiered on January 19, 2007 at the Sundance Film Festival.

We Are the Strange focuses on "two diametrically opposed outcasts" as they "fight for survival in a sinister fantasy world." These two outcasts are an abused woman named Blue who has a mysterious degenerative disease and a living doll named eMMM.

The two meet in the Forest of Still Life, where Blue follows eMMM to Stopmo City on a search for his ideal ice cream parlor. Upon arriving in Stopmo City, they are caught in the middle of a fierce battle between bizarre monsters, making their progress difficult. Thankfully, a hero named Rain appears and easily destroys every monster that faces him. Blue meets Rain before he partakes in an "impossible battle against the source of all that is evil in Stopmo City." During the battle, Rain, along with Ori are crushed by Him after Rain states he wants to avenge his son. When the outlook seems grim, a fist made of aluminum foil breaks through the ground and starts the final showdown between good and evil. Six alternate soundtracks and author's commentary, including soundtrack by Noise Inc. are available on the DVD. The music used in We Are the Strange Trailer has been made by chiptune artist YERZMYEY/AY-RIDERS (a cover of t.A.T.u.'s "30 Minutes") using ZX Spectrum computer.

We Are The Strange (Full HD Movie)

It's very weird, twisted... dark, glitchy and... It was awesome combined with psychedelics  :-* :P

1. A film about Everything.
2. An epic and mind-bending trip through Reality at all levels.
3. An award winning independent experimental feature film in which virtually every major area of human knowledge and experience is explored. Including, but not limited to: cosmology, quantum physics, evolutionary biology, spirituality, sexuality, neurology, philosophy, and cucumber-ology. All ideas and concepts are explored in an original, entertaining, and artistic way. You’d obviously have to be a complete idiot not to see this film. It even has giraffes in it.

4. An experimental cinematic creation that defies traditional categorization. Not to be confused with either a fictional narrative or a documentary film.
5. An experience unlike any experience that has ever been experienced. Not dissimilar to the act of loading the Universe into a shotgun and firing it into your brain. See also: Mindfuck.

6.  The blissful realization of the True Nature of Reality, the Universe, and Everything. A peek behind the Cosmic Curtain to glimpse the Eternal Truth obscured by the Almost Infinite Bullshit. A bite from the Cosmic Cucumber.

7. The satisfaction of Hidden Desires for the Unknown Pleasures of Eternal Lust. An Existential Orgasm. No mind shall be left unblown.

Small donation of choice and you can stream/download the full experience. Good luck

Post New Requests Here / Radio3 -micro link blogging
« on: December 29, 2015, 07:36 PM »
"Radio3 is a cross-platform linkblogging tool. Your links go to Facebook, Twitter and a new feature-full RSS feed that will make it possible to build new innovative networks on the open web web."

I am always looking for new free/opensource. As long that things don't get to technical and complicated I srart experienrting and with Radio3 ir was love at first sight. I have tried almost every thinkable bookmark ing solution but never felt good enough to go through wth it. Radio3 isnt an windows proram, if runs like a real webapplication and users your dropboc account to store someo of the data iyou put into it. What it does icreating a microblog of URLs you 'stunble upon' that are good enlouygh to ssave (or share). Radio3 gives u an bookmarkled. When you want internert adress saved you push the button, adjust the name/url (optional, second screenshot below) en hit enter. Over time.. it generates something  like this: http://radio3.io/users/n8wachT/

2015-12-30 02_34_26-myLinklog.opml.png

2015-12-30 02_35_08-Radio3.png

There are a lot more options, you can aso add a regular blogging tab e.t.. But that's not what reAll;y bothers me. It sworks good as an webapp, productively sppeaking. But Ithink it would bd more cool if the data goes to an desktop environment instead (or also). The other thing ius that it has a few flaws which I cant seem to figure olut. The linkblog page seems to stop at an maxiimum ammount of links because I started much earlier. Jiust a few months back i noticedf tthe arhive stopped around the end of aseptember. And now I cant scroll further down than halfway october. I findt cinfsuing at thaat point because I have to start looking on my dropbox (hoping the data beflore is saved). It doesnt wfeel rght or work oprobably when you start don that. You easily mess things jup more causw the synchronie module isnt always visible at a glance, for me though.

It would be awesome if it could be made a bit mre simple and yet powerful. There's a lot that  can be done to make it even more interesting. Now its a good tool to microblog your findings. But as an bookmarkmanager  you can't seafrch or brrowse it as easy because all the input is in a non-alphabticv bbut on date sorted list. What if we add an extra option (tags maybe?) that keep tbe list as a serachable aRCHIVE. No idea if thatsx possible, butt cab come in handy right? It also tweets every new url-entry to my foollowers o0n Twioter. Reallty happy with that option too.

It's a bit like Anuran, first time I succeded with keepin some kind of diarylog for longer than 6 mionts. From a poductivity kind of view I think these tools are much more effective for most people. I hope the basic thought is un derstandable. And if it got you enthousiastic as wll than great  :D

ps. On dropbox I think the actual data is saved in .opml format. But when I open such file with notepad it seems to ontain miuch less text.

First of all, thanks- every buddy for thinking with me!

I don't know if you are familiar with AutoHotkey - http://autohotkey.com - but you can read and edit images using GDI+
Luckily there is a library for that which makes things a lot easier.
I'm not very familiar with it but this is a proof of concept, still flawed, but should get you going.

And that.... is briljant. Last week, I spend for a larger amount of time by getting lost. I mean, there is soooo much you can do as newbie.. Mindbl0wn by this and whoa look how cool is that without actually got to the ''creating something'' (maybe 281 new bookmarks unsorted added). Sensory overload YEAH thats what I ment!

But now, after that briljant Autokey-reply... I made that my allround starting point in coding. Just finished collecting all the tools needed, and got myself couple of ebooks for beginners. I can't tell you how happy I am already with the script cause I need to play level 1 till 7 first to fully understand how it works. And when I do... I'lll get  back here with the result (or failure  ;))

Convert PopUp Quotes to a personalised reminder and/or motivational and/or goals software. Could even be used for random ToDo's that dont need to be done urgently. Or simply a way of running ideas by every now and again so that they can rattle around in the background..

I am really diggin this idea

45
i get a big kick out of seeing things like that

I was hoping you would, hihi

The PDF's have a very positive tone and explain how to use the application with text and images (I do know the Dutch language)

Heeej Ernie, er zit een banaan in je oor!

''Computer Idee's'' (I believe it also releases an German version) main aim is people who don't know much (or a little) about computers. But everyone wants to learn en will eventually learn more and more. Since early 2015 they started to evolve a bit ... They involve the reader a bit more too. I've tipped them on Anuran (also from donationcoding). One of the first programs for me, use it every day ever since. But now I'm wandering off..

On topic!      ... great, rebel emoticon.

Are your images different sizes?
Are the frames/margins always the same width?
-tomos

Sadly there aren't a lot of constant factors. The only thing we can see as an certainty is that the white frame is always located at the bottom of the picture. But it can vary in width cause some pictures are in 'standing mode' while others ''lie down'' (not sure how to put that in english, hoping you still understand what  I mean).

And.. besides those differences the pictures are also in various sizes as an whole. So I already figured that wasnt the best outcome for an coding adventure... right?

If you are not afraid of command-line tools...

No, actually.. I just started learning more about it and I must say..... It's really something that you get good at
by trying and doing it for a long time so.. Let's get this party started! And thnx for the tip! Imagemagick is indeed
the kind of tool i am looking for.

Guess what.!

This week SPLAT made it into the dutch magazine ''Computer Idee.'' Not sure if you are good with the language, but

« on: November 26, 2015, 10:45 PM »
Howdy,

Please forgive me if this been asked before (site is so big!). I am looking for a batch-editor for images. Images that have borders/frames on one part of the picture (below/above) and/or pictures that got frames on all 4 sides. The option to cut out/remove that kind of stuff would be really helpfull- instead of removing them one by one. Want to edit an directory with 1000+ images this way so one by one isnt really an option. And I'm convinced there is a smart trick to do so somewhere on this site or amongst the members..  :D

I've added an example picture- imagine all the photo's in my directory have the same white border. Think you understand what I mean now  :)

Thank you!
