An update for WinButtons is available, it's now version 2.6.0

I've added variable replacement, with optional parameter handling (like functions), to most configuration items, and messagebox functions so a user can Yes/No or OK/Cancel confirm before a command is executed.

The downloadlink in the original release post has been moved to the DcMembers server I've been granted access :-*

Find And Run Robot / Re: Settings not being saved
« on: April 08, 2011, 03:41 PM »
It should have installed into C:\Program Files (x86)
That's only on x64 versions of Windows. But a lot of installers allow to change the installpath during setup, so it could be a manual action, though I don't expect that.

What has happened before is that someone set compatibility mode for another installer (possibly with the same name) or on purpose, to make it believe it's running on XP? or maybe not the installer, but the final exe? These settings are system-wide AFAIK.

General Software Discussion / Re: Any XML gui tools out there?
« on: April 07, 2011, 01:27 AM »
I use the FREE XML Pad (http://www.wmhelp.com/xmlpad3.htm).

Hm, the site seems to have either passed away, or it's been DoCo'd (like 'slashdotted' :D)

I've made a screenshot of the expected result, when opened in a browser (FF4 over here):

Hm, a week went by without a response.

Did anybody else try and had issues like this with Excel2Html?

A test-commandline could be something like "Excel2Html -f testaddresses.xlsx -t Excel2Html-all-template.html -o test.html"

Running the uncompiled .au3 script (assuming AutoIt3 is installed...) would give an accurate source-linenumber on any errors: "Excel2Html.au3 -f testad..."
Adding "-d " between Excel2Html and -f like: "Excel2Html -d -f testad..." writes some logging info to Excel2Html.log, that could be of interest if anything wonky happens.

Any results would be highly appreciated, as ofcourse it "works on my machine"... ;)

General Software Discussion / Re: What the hell is OpenCandy?

I'm waiting for the day they stop kidding themselves (and us) and just permanently split the screen to have ads continuously running in one of the panels during a show.

Ah, you haven't been watching any of the 'music channels' on TV lately then. It's 80% ads for SMS services with the cost displayed in a font so small that even HD-TV won't show it readable, and the rest for other teenage crap stuff, and though it's not yet half of the screen, the in-song/in-clip advertising is enough to fill that gap.

What's the result you are getting now?

If you added an if before the first bracket on line 27 there would at least be a comparison in the loop.

3133
Or this generator, that probably does the 'hard work' for you?

Or this useful page

3134
Would this (rather old) article help you get this started?

Skwire Empire / Re: Release: sWeather (tray-based weather app)
« on: April 02, 2011, 11:12 AM »
I found a minor glitch on sWeather's Expanded view. The statusbar of the Expanded view always shows the same 'Current conditions as of:' of 1 of the items in the list, but not of the selected one. Haven't determined how it selects the displayed information, but probably the first item in the list.
It then also shows the same (wrong in my case) statusbar info in the main window, as soon as I move the mouse over it. But that could be a 'feature' of the underlying programming environment.

Anyone can imagine how difficult it is to write this message with crossed fingers?  :o
I've been typing this way since I put in my sign-up for a few nice items in the drawing :tellme: so my hands are a bit cramped now :'(

This is awesome :-*

There are indeed a ton of options, and I have no movies to be printed, but it's surely a big motivator of finally using my phone to make a few movies and get me a nice flipbook. Really cool 8)

Welcome, DerekHal,

the promising noice from the modem, making a connection
;D
The noise is there, but the frequency is just too high for humans to be able to hear it. And lots of time the connection is kind-of permanent, so connecting isn't done that often anymore

Well, not to upset you, but since using 1.5, all is working fine now :-[ hadn't thought you where still looking for a solution, as imho it's fixed, but I now realize I didn't post that here... sorry :-[ :-[

Some more info please:
  • What's the version of Office/Excel you have installed? I've been testing with Office 2007 with all SP's installed.
  • And where's the xlsx file located? on a local or network drive?
  • Are any questions/confirmations asked when you try to open the file directly?

Oh, and can you try using the au3 as the source (most likely Excel won't close even when E2H is finished, but you can do that by hand), it gives much more accurate line-numbers in the error report then the compiled exe.

3142
Where is Seamonkey?  ;)

It's the thin line, just about 0.1 pixel wide, at the far right of the image, they just forgot to put the versionnumbers along the line :P

I had to add another Sleep between the ^c and Clipboard get:
; Copy user selection to a variable.
       SendInput, ^c
       Sleep, 100
       myText := Clipboard
Or it would get the previous content of the clipboard, instead of the selected text in the browser, just like you already have for copying the url, but now it's working just fine

Might be caused by my rather snappy PC (i7-860, W7 x64, 8 GB), but the extra 100 msec confidence doesn't hurt anything :)

General Software Discussion / Re: Alternatives to LightScreen
« on: March 26, 2011, 01:07 PM »
What's not good enough for using ScreenShotCaptor? It does all you request, afaics (and you said that yourself), the location of the stored screenshots can be set from configuration, and you requested a feature to prompt for the location with each screen shot. Is that an indispensable feature of LightScreen?

+1 for tranglos

@vevola
if you want to know all the key combinations available within a particular application

Some applications allow to set up your own hotkeys for all functions they offer, and if you're lucky you can even print that list.
In other cases you'd be studying the manual to get a list of hotkeys. If it's in the helpfile, then in most cases that's printable. :-\

Could you do me a favor and try v. 1.4?
Well I did... :( but sorry, my desktop WorkerW windowclass doesn't have a Window title set, so it's not counting in for Program Manager. Still a no-go.
I could suggest to add a -w switch that adds the WorkerW class to the list for the cases that need that, but that could give a minor interference with the alternate hotkey setting ofcourse.
Returning to my fixed-up version works just fine, as before.

3147
Shame it is missing snapshots/clones though.  I LOVE that feature ...

That's about the only reason they are still providing the commercial Workstation edition, IMHO :)

3148
What's the OS you are RDP-ing into?

On Win7 hotkey <Win-G> is used to activate the Sidebar gadgets, so focus wouldn't go to GridMove anyway :P

Post New Requests Here / Re: IDEA: OAuth function for Autohotkey
« on: March 25, 2011, 10:04 AM »
I've been thinking about this for a few days, but I really think this should be solved at the AHK level, and not anywhere else.

So: Please post this request over at the AHK forums, and see if the dev-team picks it up.
