1 Software / Find And Run Robot / FARR v2.104.02 - Plugins don't load [Windows 7/64bit] on: March 06, 2012, 10:56:52 PM
Tested on the Archive and the Installer version of FARR.

Version v2.104.02 was grabbed through FARR's updater.
Plugins located in the Plugin folder in the FARR Directory are not loaded.
Refreshing the plugins do not result in the plugins being recognized.
2  Special User Sections / N.A.N.Y. 2012 / Canceled NANY 2012 Pledge: Iyuee on: December 30, 2011, 05:11:22 AM
Application Name Iyuee
Version 0.01
Short Description A website that allows you to create a group with your friends/housemates to keep track of payments/receipts.
Supported OSes Win7 - Firefox/Chrome/Internet Explorer
Web Page none yet

Essentially, you create a group (you) and you invite your friends (housemates) and you all add 'items' (gas, food, etc) from whatever (receipts) and list payee's. Displays how much each person needs to pay and items are crossed out when they're taken care of (but they persist for recordkeeping).

So.. I intended for this to have more, but I kind of ran out of time so meh. I'll be updating this after the final release, but you can consider this as a 'receipt tracker' and completed (and just expect anything and everything else to be an unexpected surprise).

EDIT: There were a couple of things that needed to go in that I didn't get the time to include. I'll still release the app, but it'll be a New App, Normal Year.
3  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: If you had a medical implant would you rather it be closed or open source? on: December 30, 2011, 02:49:01 AM
The way I see it, the source code not open source can actually be a good thing because people might try to fiddle with the code or repair/modify it because they don't want to pay for maintainence from the manufacturer.

This might be a bad analogy, but consider the "black box". It makes maintenance easier because if it is broken, you replace it and if it isn't, you keep it. (You don't try to fix it.)

"a black box refers to a piece of equipment provided by a vendor, for the purpose of using that vendor's product. It is often the case that the vendor maintains and supports this equipment, and the company receiving the black box typically are hands-off."

This looks pretty neat. Does this give priority for a certain media player over another? I notice when say i have ITunes and Foobar open, the pause/play button either doesn't work or gives ITunes priority even though neither are focused.
5 Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / ShowDesktop on: December 10, 2011, 05:01:22 AM
This is my first plugin and consequently is as simple as it seems. This plugin will show your desktop (in effect minimizing all other windows).

Install this by extracting the contents into your FARR's plugin folder.
To use it, type
and hit enter.

The desktop icon does not work nor do I have permission to use it, but I was thinking of something like this

I think I might consolidate this plugin with the WindowManagement one provided by jgpaiva found here

I did a board search and didn't find anything that actually did this so I decided to release it. Apologies if this is a copy.
6 Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: CZB pack on: December 09, 2011, 05:31:23 AM
I find it unproductive to combine all your plugins into a package because then it becomes more difficult to support users who need help. I updated Google Translate with links in its original thread found here
7 Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: Google Translation Plugin on: December 09, 2011, 05:28:13 AM
Updated Google Translate due to invalid Syntax. The CZB's Pack wouldn't load due to errors so I used the one available in this thread which is why i'm posted it here.

Essentially, google updated some of their html which in turn broke this plugin.

In addition, if you look in the screenshot, i've added some of the romaji/pinyin for various languages (chinese, japanese, korean). ATM since FARR doesn't support unicode(?), you can only translate from english to another language, at least that is what i've discovered (I think some posts here were trying a workaround). This might be pretty buggy but my tests succeeded.

@koro: late, but it appears that the reason why your apostrophe looks so weird is because you've converted it to its html code counterpart.
8 Software / FARR Plugins and Aliases / Re: CZB pack on: December 08, 2011, 08:43:55 PM
I'm on Windows 7 64bit and when I try to load Google Translate after installing FSSC, I get a "Message: CZB is undefined name: Type Error".
