I used virtual desktops before, but I didn't care for it. I like how this works with my daily work tasks. Hope others find is just as helpful, though I do admit there is not much to the help file or settings, but I don't see a real need to have any settings just yet.

This is a small app that I made to bring my desktop topmost to allow me quick access to my icons/folders on my desktop. Win+D is ok, but if you don't press Win+D after you are done on your desktop and just bring up one window it does not restore the windows back the way you had them. This does the opposite and brings the desktop up to the top and then when another window is in focus (or the Escape key is pressed) the desktop is restored. I use and like it a lot. There is an installer and a portable version... and it's free. There are 2 videos I made showing that drag and drop work nicely with it also. This does not work with multi-screen systems, sorry. :-( http://starpunch.blogspot.com/2013/06/desktop-window.html

Ok, well that at least is something I can work with. Now I am determined to get it to work! :-) Attached is an app called Window Spy, it gets info about windows open on the system. Unzip it somewhere and run the EXE. Click on the Spy button and then click on your desktop. You should see something like the image below. Can you take a screen shot of that and post it or email it to me? [starpunch.net AT gmail.com]

Oops forgot to attached the app.... but you contacted me via email so it's all good. :-)

Was not asking for an app, just showing a suggestion. I can remake the MB app to allow you to make your own hotkey if you would like. As I said, I just made this for myself and thought I would share so I didn't add much to it.

I copy and paste text into notepad (and other apps) a lot. It is easier to do if notepad is always ontop rather than using Alt+Tab all the time to switch between apps. This way, I can double middle click on the notepad window and it will always stay ontop until I do it again. The double click can be anywhere on the window.

I needed a quick way to make a window ontop/not ontop. This utility allows you to double click the middle mouse button to set a window ontop/not ontop. If you do not have a middle mouse button you can hold the SHIFT key and double left click on a window to do the same. FREE MB Ontop

Before I make an official release I'll let the members here play with this new version it a bit. I removed the hoykey and it now just uses the default windows clipboard hotkeys and works in the background. It does not hook the hotkey at all anymore. I also removed the double space option under append clipboard option, if you need an extra line then copy it. :-) There were a few small bugs also and the paste special dialog should not show anymore when pasting. You can download the beta version HERE and view the new help file here -> http://www.evernote.com/shard/s1/sh/191852d2-1ce4-4888-a800-6e910012ac84/568f32e82ed7c16289f485852fddcb01The help link in the beta still points to the old help file for now. Please let me know how it goes. :-) (@TaoPhoenix :-) )

I think I am going to rethink how I wrote the app. I use an auto hotkey app to make the hotkey. I think I am going to remove that and just leave Ctrl+V as is and do all the scrubbing by watching the clipboard. That may fix some of the clashes as it will just be the native windows hotkey.

Thanks again for the input! I'll take a closer look at these and try to add what I can and fix the bugs. As far as the registration, I usually keep it so that if it is paid for once there are no upgrade fees. Unless there is a big update that would cost me a lot but I don't see that happening on this app.

Wow, thanks for your input! I think I can do most of what you suggested. I have got slammed with work but I will try to get to working on this ASAP.
One of the reasons I did the per-scrub box is because I have done the per session before and a lot of people just leave the system on all the time and since Scrubby is an "always-on" app. Per session for someone who leaves the system on all the time could last months or longer depending on the limitation amount. I may do that but have to take the limit back down to about 14 again. I think that is fair.
