Details seem missing from the story.

I agree.  Details seem a bit sketchy.
He was quick on the draw.

It was only penciled in at the time.

Canvasing the comments has proven quite interesting.

I still wouldn't draw any conclusions from it. I'd wait until we get the complete picture.

I see the fountain of wisdom in that penning.

I think it's time that somebody here took the lead.

All is well that pens well.

That's penning review.
No pen no gain !
Stop playing a round and use a niblick!

I see that you have designs on being the leader but you can carry couture too far!

If you don't mind the lack of guts (which you don't) those are really great for hauling stuff around.
Do post a video of your hand signals when you have feed from the driver recorder!
6  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Feature Request: History of Captures on: August 04, 2015, 12:31:28 AM
It can be limited to the last 10 captures if necessary, or it can be somewhere else if it's not limited.  I'd just like to see where the captures were, no matter what was saved.

Thoughts?
I could use that on my machines as I sometimes lose track of a capture and have to resort to Everything to find it.
My wife could use it on her machines too, as she sometimes loses track of a capture and I have to resort to Everything to find it

I thought I would post this as a separate thread outside of the Windows 10 mega-thred so nobody missed it.
Thanks for taking the time, forewarned is foreboding.

so those of you who use "unread since last visit" -- you click on the text link near your avatar, is that right?

Yes, in my case.

I always use "unread since last visit" — it's my main point of entry to DC. I'd be really sorry to see that go  Sad

Is App102, App103's predecessor?  Grin

I just discovered that I have a page of bookmarks about which I'd forgotten.

The ability to bookmark an individual post, with app102's suggestion for attaching a note, would give me better than a 50-50 chance of ever finding a specific post.

It's a pretty safe bet that, going forward, not everybody will find everything to their liking as things change. We must be prepared to let go of some current conveniences if and when they become the biggest obstacles to progress. If maintaining 5% of something is accounting for 45% of your effort that will make a persuasive argument for dropping it. A new system can't hope to be a winner in every category, it just has to offer a set of benefits that significantly improves on today's set.

Always a good thing, thanks for the extra effort!

How are things going? Any improvements in your life?

nothing left to do now but push forward bitching and moaning the whole way
FWIW I find cursing to be more satisfying.

17  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: WildOpal - hypothetical new idea for a "find and replace" program on: June 09, 2015, 08:41:37 AM
I don't replace many things (just break 'em). This, however, will be useful for me on the few occasions when I have the need, have forgotten the syntax, and can't find my copy of Searching for Dummies Thmbsup

Nice, lucid help, as with OpalCalc  Thmbsup  Thmbsup

Thanks for making it available!

That's quite a dilemma! If purchase volume is limited by carrying capacity, the cost of the journey could cancel out potential savings.
20  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Any difficulty in doing knots? on: May 19, 2015, 02:33:46 AM
a video of The One Armed Man(tm) tying knots might be interesting
It seems armless enough to me.

Until I saw the puns I feared this thread would be for naught.

Puns, what puns? This may come as noose to you but according to the panel you made a slip.

Nice! I was just thinking recently that it would be nice to learn a few basic knots.  thumbs up
Why knot ?

You never know, it could be station drift, or maybe he's been switched to another frequency, or fallen foul of one of those Russian jamming signals, or gone thetan, or something.
There's a whole spectrum of possibilities for us to meditate upon.
Might even have turned turtle.

24  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: USB 3.0 problems with Windows; general discussion on: May 11, 2015, 02:20:43 PM
My usually reliable esata connection for external drives started not working, as in, the drive wasn't being detected at all.
FWIW, when that happened to me I found that Windows updates had changed the driver. If you google around some, and if that's your problem, you'll find the steps to fix it. Those steps were a bit more convoluted than I'd have expected but I fixed the problem on two different machines. Looking back, quickly, I see that it was related to "JMB36X_WinDrv_R1.17.65_WHQL_eSATA.zip". HTH

You get an error that Macrium cannot create snapshot.
I had that a couple of/few years back. At the time the current Norton Ghost was still on the machine. Macrium cleared it up quite quickly.
