77  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: What buttons should be in Screenshot Captor post-capture dialog? on: February 23, 2013, 11:19:08 PM
I have never and probably never will print from a dialog like this. A dialog like this which is the first thing I see and I haven't seen the image in its full size and/or haven't edited it.

@mouser car rental is much like house/apartment, one does it for the feeling of ownership otherwise it is always more expensive to own.

As far as my car goes, regular Corolla, very boring just like me  cheesy

What happened to "Pirate Bay on a USB stick" they brought out awhile ago?

82  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: More speed/bandwidth from an 802.11n laptop<-->WiFi Router/Modem connection? on: February 18, 2013, 08:28:27 PM
Of course 4wd is right. Closer to router, less walls in between, wireless chipset (latest firmware or otherwise) .... whole spectrum of things affect wireless speeds.

83  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: More speed/bandwidth from an 802.11n laptop<-->WiFi Router/Modem connection? on: February 18, 2013, 07:50:46 PM
I think you will end up with 'advertised speeds are theoretical' no matter what you try.
84  Special User Sections / Shareware Discounts for Members / Re: So, when are the next discounts? on: February 18, 2013, 09:45:34 AM
I will try (emphasis on try because one never knows) to get one or two discounts and will let you know if I do. Thanks wraith.

89  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: 2013 Version: Browser Wars on: February 13, 2013, 02:52:00 PM

I read your post. It's not dev's fault when even a simple <div> leaves spaces and other things unlike every other browser, etc. Google various standards like div and others and add 'opera' right after it to your search query
90  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: 2013 Version: Browser Wars on: February 13, 2013, 02:40:31 PM
Sites like Amazon didn't render or work properly and with pretty much zero interest to correct it. I hate to take the bigger business side of things but with their market share and real standard elements not working/rendering like the rest of (98% or so) the web, this was coming.

93  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Website under attack ... help needed on: February 11, 2013, 04:14:46 PM
Header file (not index) injected with a redirect code is one likely source.

Often in an up to date, 'secure' install that is on a shared server, another user getting compromised is enough.
94  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Re: 2013 Version: Browser Wars on: February 10, 2013, 04:09:08 PM
Trying out SRWare Iron, and it's no faster than Chromium.  Then I read this:
http://neugierig.org/soft...m/notes/2009/12/iron.html

Meh.  Chromium works fine enough.

Obvious good points there but he is basing some of it

95  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: Flash Under Attack, Emergency Patch Issued on: February 09, 2013, 08:38:27 PM
click2play or flashblock add-ons help more than just against attacks, also do it to bring resource usage back to sane levels.
One thing about flash I never understood is that update notifications only show up after reboots (at least that's the behaviour that I see) and I don't reboot often ...
96  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Michel In Guides! on: February 07, 2013, 11:24:03 PM
A bit of  Grin and  huh

Quote
A 28-year-old salesman named Adam Mascall from Luton received a very angry letter through the post from the people at Michelin Guides (i.e, the French restaurant bible universally revered in food circles) after he snapped up the "www.michelinguides.com" domain name for just £6 recently.

Michelin, who mistakenly allowed the domain to expire, then threatened to sue Mascall in a sternly-worded letter as he was infringing on their trademark.

Mascall, however, then wrote back to Michelin and told them that his website was actually "Michel in Guides.com" and began filling the holding page with hilariously photoshopped images of UEFA president Michel Platini in Girl Guides uniforms!

At the risk of making this a basement thread.
Would you rather pay for weapons or this? Not that it will really ever happen but still. Leaving it to corporations is of course an option but you will be paying for it in that case too because there is no chance in hell that would be free for ever, via Google or whoever

The installer for Desktop iCalendar Lite is NASTY.

Thanks for the warning. As recently as last October this wasn't the case.
