102  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / New option for after making a selection on: May 21, 2010, 04:56:42 AM
Hi Mouser,

I find myself in need of a new option after making a selection in an existing image.  Can you please add an option to copy the current selection to the clipboard?

At the moment I make the selection, click File --> Create New File From Region, then click on the new image, select it and copy it to the clipboard.

I have taken a large number of screenshots that I need to this on and it would be faster to just copy the selection to clipboard.  In case you are wondering I don't want to 'destroy' the original images.

Thanks

Hi Mouser,

Your main LaunchBar download page only has a link to version 1.10.01 or am I going (more) crazy?

I've heard good things about the Acer Revo 3610 so this is currently top of my list.  From reviews it seems to be able to handle 1080P without much trouble.

For those who are interested, take a look at this Acer Revo 3610 review.
105  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Advice of Media Player/Center on: February 16, 2010, 09:03:41 AM
Hi all,

I'm thinking of getting a Media Player/Center and I'd like the following capabilities (I'm a little unsure of some terminology), but keeping the price to < €400.

HD enabled
Play all the latest video/music formats
Ability to stream content from web sites
Wireless streaming
It can be just one unit or the storage can be separate

I was thinking of something like the Iomega ScreenPlay Director:

Do any of you have experience with Media Players/Centres as I'd appreciate your input before I purchase.

Many thanks.

That seems like a sensible suggestion  thumbs up

Well keeping my fingers crossed didn't help.

Does anyone know of where they still have copies of Windows 7 Family Pack Upgrade available (for delivery to US)?

Thanks

Yeah I'd read that and I've got my fingers crossed he might get a copy somewhere.

1) I have "volunteered" a friend to bring it back with him on his annual Christmas trip home.
2) As for support, who needs MS when we have the expertise of the DonationCoder community!
110  Main Area and Open Discussion / General Software Discussion / Windows 7 Family Pack Upgrade on: December 07, 2009, 02:53:51 AM
Hi,

Does anybody know if there would be any issues with purchasing a Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium Upgrade Family Pack for XP or Vista users in the US but installing it on laptops in Ireland? In case you are wondering why, it's because there is a significant price difference!
Thanks

Thanks for going into this in so much detail.  I'll try this out when I'm at home.

It seems to just create a new email with the EML file as an attachment!
113  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / How to open Windows Mail emails in Outlook 2007 on: October 24, 2009, 12:29:40 PM
Hi,

I recently moved to Windows 7. Before I did this I smartly (or so I thought) exported all my Windows Mail emails to eml files.  However when I installed Office 2007 including Outlook, I can't import the eml files as it doesn't seem to support them!

Has anybody found a free workaround to importing the eml files to Outlook?

Thanks

Damian

Hi Mouser, I'm back in business with version 2.60.02, so no more black screenshots!

Tks
116  DonationCoder.com Software / Screenshot Captor / Re: Should I add simple scanner features to SC? on: July 22, 2009, 03:17:25 AM
Hi Mouser,

I just installed the beta version (2.60.01) and all my new screen shots are coming out just black, here is an exmaple:

I've stopped and restarted SC, but no joy!
117  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / View fixed length record files on: July 11, 2009, 07:19:50 AM
Hi,

I was wondering if anyone knows of a simple way of opening fixed length files and viewing the contents (records/fields) easily?

I know Excel allows this to be done, but I'd like a method to define the layout as a template and to be able to load the file based on a template.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I thought it opening at the mouse location was good, but I can't say I'm fussy on it.
119  Main Area and Open Discussion / Living Room / Re: What's your favorite drink? on: June 30, 2009, 06:51:35 AM
I've recently started brewing my own wine (well there is a recession), so my choice has to my Pinot Grigio from "Chateaux Moi".  The wine never lasts long enough to mature, but it still tastes good.

Does anyone else make their own homebrew?

If he wants to migrate to Ireland for a little while, I'll show him around. So how do add yourself to the list of destinations?

Has he been toilet trained?  I hope he doesn't have bird flu?
121  DonationCoder.com Software / LaunchBar Commander / Re: LaunchBar Commander Beta with "Tab Nodes" on: June 17, 2009, 11:44:01 AM
HELP!

My PC crashed (nothing to do with LBC) and when I rebooted, LBC was asking me to configure it.

My MCF file was gone, but a backup was there from around the time I installed beta version 1.102.01.

When I try to load the bak file I get an error: error loading nodes from file - cmc error.

Any ideas on how to fix.  Do I need to go back to the non beta version?

Thanks

Damian
122  DonationCoder.com Software / LaunchBar Commander / Re: LaunchBar Commander Beta with "Tab Nodes" on: June 17, 2009, 09:07:58 AM
Here's a suggestion...

I believe LBC has undiscovered capabilities that a lot of might use if we could see them demonstrated.

Mouser - could you put together a configuration file that we could load to our own PCs for typical windows installs.

So for Windows XP users you might show off the capabilities of LBC using the standard programs that get loaded by Windows (assuming they all get installed to C:\Windows or is it C:\WinXP?).  You could show off menus to Programs, Control Panel, My Documents, Start Menu, showing folder contents and all types of nodes & menu types.

A similar configuration file could then be created for Vista...

What do you think or are the possible differences in installs too much?

123  DonationCoder.com Software / LaunchBar Commander / Re: LaunchBar Commander Beta with "Tab Nodes" on: June 17, 2009, 07:08:20 AM
Yeah, I like it (I think). However, once you have activated a sub menu, how can you close it so it goes back to normal?  I'll play some more with it.

Keep those new features rolling and don't mind those crickets.
124  DonationCoder.com Software / LaunchBar Commander / Re: LaunchBar Commander Idea: Submenu from commandline tool on: June 17, 2009, 06:52:16 AM
It sounds interesting and it maybe something I'd use.  I'm a big user\fan of LBC and I'm always looking for new ways to do things better.

Hi Umberto,

If you could add the file/folder size? Will it have an option to sort by size or name...

Many thanks and keep up the great work.
