General Software Discussion / Re: Mind Map-Concepts-Illustrate

Hi to all,
The subject header 'Mind map' caught my eye because many years ago (late 1990s), I had a magazine with a free CD that included the very early Mindmap program.  However, like you have mentioned already ..... where do you start?  Many years ago on an NVQ course at work, they showed how you could use it and it looked straightforward enough and so I got the bug.  That is until you have to do your own thing!!!  I subscribe to Computer Active and have done since the beginning.  They have free downloads of programs every fortnight for their members and one year they had a full-working Mindmap program.  I downloaded the .exe file and got the Reg key.  I saved it all to my external drive in a special folder.  And there it sat and sat for when I would install it.  I did eventually have a go but ..... couldn't really get on with it.  Then later on, the magazine gave a link to one you could do online and it seemed a lot easier but I didn't do it for long because I hadn't any clear idea of what I wanted to create!!   When I received the Reg code, the girl who replied, said she was very intrigued to know what I was going to use the program for.  When I have inspiration, I like to write, so I said I would use it for mapping out plots for a story.  I never got around to doing this because I keep finding other things to do on here.   If you Google 'how to use Mind mapping' there are a number of useful websites, that may help some members?
Bye for now, Maureen
