Dear Skrommel,

Seeing the magic with Autohotkey it might be possible to create a "logical (my dad)" Click 'n Type (M$)/Shadow Cursor (Corel WordPerfect) thing (with for example notepad), but I'll donate anyway! Thanks. Bas

Or link the [Enter] key to firs¶
t go to the end of the line, before putting the cursor down one line, in essence, good point. :)

Post New Requests Here / "CloseInactiveWin"

IDEA:

CloseInactiveWin

Somethimes it takes a long while for the window to close if it has to be redrawn on the foreground first (whether I'd be a fast computer or not), which is something Mocrosoft overlooked.

Post New Requests Here / mouse hover image preview
« on: December 06, 2009, 08:51 AM »
IDEA:

popup window to show the image file on which the mouse hovers, in the space available left (right, above or below) of the Windows Explorer (with the thumbs or list view). Perhaps in conjunction with auto window raise (to make (Explorer) window active (MouseActivate), and inactive again if mouse leaves the window).

Also, the thumbs in the Windows (XP) Explorer still appear a bit small, of which Microsoft decided.

CutAway can do it, but it would be nice to switch off the left pane when Explorer shows the image previewer ("Filmstrip View"). At this point the left pane can't be switched off unless the window is made narrow enough, and thus can get in the way.

Dear Mouser e.a.,

It's a bit like the universal command line utility (ie. D&DR); can you create a header (form) and body section for eml and abc(m) files? It's for (for example) iDev's cmdMailer2.exe and abc2pdf.bat. Double \r\n\r\n characters must be converted to a single \r\n (CR LF pair) in abc text files, because everything below an empty line will be ignored (unless in case of a new 'X:n' section).

I've seen how easy it was to localize the entry boxes, and in case of cmdMailer this eml file would then be the %F1 in 'CMDMAILER2 /HOST:hostname /EMLFILE:%F1 [/PORT:portnr] [/USER:username] [/PWD:password] [/SAVEMSG]'

The headerlist for abc files may be found here:
http://abcplus.sourc...abcplus_en-1.1.0.zip from http://abcplus.sourceforge.net

If you're appealed by this, then I hope it generates some extra good revenue!
iDev is located at http://www.idev.ch, under Software-Other tools

Living Room / Concept stage (workground) - "ifo computing"
« on: August 02, 2009, 04:41 AM »
Hello,

perhaps it's an idea for a new section where big concepts can be placed, without being necessarily being worked out within DonationCoder.com. I'd be happily outvoted on this one, but, I could be wrong.

This idea is not for CodingSnacks for completion but the rough concept may be, at least the research is there to be reckoned with, but can be done in an hour or two;
The idea is to switch operating systems. If a state of the computer is saved, preferably a compatible state where not everything is stored but just enough for the operating system to cope with (and not needing an update each time), then another computer state may be loaded to be able to land on the operating system and partition there that computer state may reside.

Switching between Win98 and WinXP may be easier than between Windows and Linux, or not, I don't know, but the Linux community is there to help. So, it's a running 'identified flying object' metaphorically speaking, activating the system underneath. Thought it would be nice to share 'ifo computing' with you.

That's it in a nutshell, and may be interresting. (At least we broke the patent rules on this one¡)
Interface out..  :P

I don't want to be greedy, but is there a utility where I can insert, or drag-and-drop, a commandline (accepting arguments) utility on the first row, and add one other row for each argument relevant? (With history and commenting logging, and perhaps envirenmental settings when relevant, talk about being greedy) (and perhaps command string pasting, to be distributed)

For example:
1.  c:\program files\imaginary\imaginary.exe (could be any programme)
2.  --option1 --option2
3.  d:\my images\picture1.jpg
4.  -o
5.  d:\my images\picture2.jpg
6.  empty

would presumably combine two images, assuming the syntax is accepted by 'imaginary.exe' of course.

I had a use for this a couple of times, I wonder if anyone else finds this useful. (I think it's a gem;)

I'm backing away a bit from this, but I thought the idea is good. This one is for use for other people then, where I wanted to share this with you.

keywords: mask breakdown**, purpose

Hello Mouser,

This is for your 'Box of choices';)

For the purpose of DTP photo collaging, perhaps it's worthwhile to break up the Screenshot Captor programme into a single purpose application.

- Getting a selected region of the desktop; defining the corner points prior to displaying the image 1:1 (quite a challenge?)
- Applying a mask from the list as done in Screenshot Captor (the raster format png's great in doing that!)
- Auto saving it to the folder and left list also as done in Screenshot Captor
- Also dragging and dropping to for example Viva Designer works like a charm (as in Screenshot Captor), I'm not sure about the maintaining chores*, but it could appeal to more computer illiterate users.

Then again, it's almost MiniCap, but then for a slightly different purpose. *Perhaps it's nice to be able to turn off several other purpose functions in Screenshot Capture to get down to this? If not on a module basis, perhaps as in a modifyable GUI, I don't know.

- I can't help it, but a designer's mask with two feather lines super imposed, which can be moved and then applied, would perhaps also appeal to others. Don't forget to donate to this great initiative (dc.com)!

Thank you,
basc

ps. I have requested the Snippy author for a feather function, I thought that would also be a good suggestion. You can find this on http://tech.groups.y...ri-users/message/685

** a positive breakdown that is :>

I'd like to see a 'duplicate (jpg) files acumulator on the basis of "date taken" programme.
Selection done with typing properties, directory locations with wildcards?,which is perhaps quicker than filling out a series of radio buttons, to isolate the 'keep or move' list, however you feel comfortable.
Warn when all instances of duplicates are selected (or matched).

Thanks again,
basc

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: spreadsheet timeline
« on: August 10, 2008, 10:46 AM »
As with the ole idea, this could as well live outside (non-embedded) of the app, to visualize a range of dates of several employees for example, or customers/visits (housecalls), no dates mind you.

Perhaps it's worthwhile to be able to switch cells from dates to days in between, so that one can visualize relevant difference in three ways.

Perhaps the dates ranges has to be selected in the spreadsheet document, to be visualized in the stand-alone app.

OOo come on over!

Yours,
basç

ps.
Hopefully the image attachment works..

Post New Requests Here / IDEA: Addressbook autocomplete
« on: August 10, 2008, 06:29 AM »
IDEA: ole object to make use of [Outlook]'s [address] database with "live-autocompletion" (updated on every keystroke) on the basis of a (the first) matched string/entry.

If entered a street name (perhaps the second field in the app) the other fields are filled in accordingly, as suggested on the basis of the entered character.

Compared to the "Comparing SFV" idea it may not be that great, or interesting (I consider that a killer feature if I'm not mistaken ;), but thy fun and a bit handy nonetheless.

I may have not explaned the other idea well enough, but this idea looks like a linked form inside a document as I'll show with the excellent tools already available;

Fish Mainbeat
Waterlane 13
1834NA  Vlissingen

or

Fish Mainbeat
Waterlane 13
1834NA  Vlissingen

or

Fish Mainbeat
Waterlane 13
1834NA  Vlissingen

The red are the entered characters. (I had to enter more on the last occasion because I have more fish relatives living there.)
Yours,
basc

ps.
I like the preview!

Post New Requests Here / Idea: comparing SFV
« on: July 03, 2008, 01:16 PM »
I'd like to propose an idea to arrange a directory structure (by moving and matching mostly) according to a sfv file (created with Bradford Smith's 'Easy SFV Creator' for example.)

Can anybody see any advantages in this? It's readable, managable, small, and potentially (inter app.) compatible for for example file comparison use.

Yours,
basc
