Ten of the ugliest products in tech history according to MSN. Can anyone guess number 10?

All of this gear may have worked just fine, but it sure looked bad doing it. Here are 10 examples of the worst product designs in the tech industry's storied past.

This is kind of cheating since it's only a prototype not an actual product, but this thing made me laugh out loud when I first saw it:

I'm not sure where I got the link to it (might have been some other DC thread).

ps. We owned that 300 baud acoustic modem pictured in the first post, and it worked great.  you dial the number with your phone, wait for it to start whining "eeeeeeeeeeee" and then mash the receiver down onto it.  to my eyes it's a beautiful thing.  Kiss

interesting, I felt fairly neutral about most of the stuff there -
well, I wouldnt buy a zunes thingy...

Maybe its strange but I quite like the Osborne 1 portable computer -
wonder when they going to start producing retro computers like the way you can get 50's style radios...
(you could probably fit a very powerful computer into that Osborne box & a nice wide screen, discreetly change the colours & you're off smiley)

While Microsoft Windows 1.0 is not a pretty sight -
I think XP's default theme should have beaten it onto the list...

& first prize of the bunch should definitely have gone to that iMac smiley (& that's nothing personal against Apple)

Yeah, that would be SWEET! I could just see me now...

*unlatches keyboard from Osborne case*

Seriously, I wonder what the Osborne case looks like inside. No doubt there's enough room, but you'd have to securely strap all that stuff in there somehow.
But instead of a wide screen, I'd get two mini lcd screens for a dual-monitor setup (that second floppy bay can go...)

"Dude, why are you carrying a sewing machine around?"

Actually, that would be really cool.  Maybe augment your two mini-LCD's with a Mr.Spock viewer for true stereoscopic display.
