Hirudin, you made me think the catchphrase should be:

"DonationCoder.com - To Serve Software Connoiseuers"

.
.
.
.

but it's a cookbook!!!!!!!!!!!!!

if you don't get this joke click here

Nice! A spoiler button that reveals a link to a website with a spoiler...

The Simpsons spoofed that episode of the Twilite Zone in their first Halloween special: "Treehouse of Horor."
Oddly enough there's a Wikipedia page dedicated to the cookbook.

hahaha i love the view of cody in a bubble (or in some plasma field or something)

just for the record though, it's a bit too large - see the dimension limits stated above.
(it's a lso a bit dark on my bad monitor)

I like those. One thing I think you may want to work on is the edges of the letters. They are pretty pixely (they look like they could use some antialiasing).
Also, as I'm sure you're working on, the streched portion looks pertty bad, the gradient looses it's effect.

Is the gradient effect in hamradio9b any better than in hamradio9?

Yup definately better.
I dont' think the problem is going to be easy to fix, at least not on your end hamradio. I've found that if you want a gradient to be able to strech out to an indefinate length you have to make an image that's maybe 5 pixels wide and make it repeat (instead of streching a 1 pixel wide image). Of course, mouser (or maybe someone else) would have to change the actual html of the page to make it look right.

P.S. The small image looks perfect, I can only see the prob on the large image.

nudone · « **Reply #109 on:** May 13, 2006, 08:11 PM »

bizarre to say the least but i'm proud to get my avatar alongside mouser's.

like swimming around an egg yolk or something.

coooooool.

Shed - that's the one for me ... I'm hooked.

The graphics are great but the printing is a little unclear, can you sharpen it up a bit?

Can I get my avatar in on the act too? Pretty please LOL

nudone · « **Reply #111 on:** May 14, 2006, 06:27 AM »

how about a banner with everyone's avatar on it... that would look good i think.

mouser · « **Reply #112 on:** May 14, 2006, 06:49 AM »

ok, i will officially expand this contest to include some prizes for Banners that don't get used but are totally out there and fun, so feel free to make some really bizzarre ones.

Carol Haynes · « **Reply #113 on:** May 14, 2006, 01:16 PM »

Perhaps at some point (when is the comp closinganyway?) there should be a collection of the banners and a vote?

Shed · « **Reply #114 on:** May 14, 2006, 11:02 PM »

Carol, Nudone...i make more "clear and a bit shiny" graphic....how does it look??

Carol Haynes · « **Reply #115 on:** May 14, 2006, 11:43 PM »

The text looks better - but I think the row of avatars doesn't look so good.

The nice thing about the original was the fun way the avatars were integrated into the design - now it looks like a catalogue which gives it a more amateurish feel ... not that my avatar has that effect

Who's the model on the left? I'd volunteer my services but that would send people rushing away from the site rather than encourage them $:-\$

mouser · « **Reply #116 on:** May 15, 2006, 04:37 AM »

i love it

and i finally understand now the connection with egg yolk and the previous shed banner -
i think we have a kind of birth-of-the-universe metaphor going on here with cody as the creator..
or something like that..

Here my work. Hope it will be usefull.

mouser · « **Reply #118 on:** May 20, 2006, 09:28 PM »

welcome qrade, and very cool!

added it to test page here:

99% of these are all very nice. The only one I don't care for is HamRadio1. I'm just not a fan of gray. HamRadio does have several others that I like

Good work everyone

jgpaiva · « **Reply #120 on:** May 20, 2006, 11:23 PM »

Congratulations, qrade! I like your submission very much, i like simple, beautiful stuff

I only think that the forum banner doesn't have the right dimensions, as in the test page, there's a gap at the top of the banner.
Good work!

Oh, and welcome!
