My users asked me how they can insert hyperlinks for images from web with thumbnails also how in attached to forum.
Are you know, how make this?

P.S. Sorry my bad english again

mouser · « **Reply #29 on:** October 19, 2006, 12:47 PM »

actually i think the ability to thumbnail the web image links is needed but doesn't exist; perhaps i will add it if no one else does.

There is no MOD that can make this option at SMF support site...

thanks.

I used to draw LOTS when I was younger. I loved doing portraits. I had done everyone in my 7th grade class once.
but my need for perfection quickly overcame and then I came across Macromedia Fireworks and Notepad ... haven't looked back since. lol.

Hi,

first of all a great feature, but it won't work in my case.

Thanks

Timo,

when you apply to mod, it changes the DEFAULT theme -
it may be tht you are using a non-default theme.

in this case, see the manual instructions for changes to make to your non-default theme file.

Timo Trallala · « **Reply #39 on:** January 23, 2007, 10:11 AM »

O.K. Thanks A Lot. I switched to default theme and now it's working fine.

So I will continue width edititing my favorite theme

bye
Trallala

O.K. done!

But there is a final question:

can I set a max-width for inline-fullattach, so that none can crash my layout.

for example:

Code

if(imgwidth>maxwidth)
   displayASInlineThumbAttachement

Thanks
Trallala

That's a good idea! I think we should do the same here. Isn't that possible, mouser?

Hi!

Will pictures that are added whit this mod in topics show up in MK-Portal's news?
The attachment funktion that are in SMF do not show the pictures in MK-Portal news.

I just installed the mod on SMF 1.1.2 and the feature [atach=#] does not work. The image is shown on top of attachment only, please help to check. The link.

this almost always happens because the package installer only modifies the default theme; if you use another theme i think you have to make the modification manually, but it's really easy and the included readmes in the modification show you how.

lanux128 · « **Reply #45 on:** May 10, 2007, 03:45 AM »

mouser, i have a question.. if i want to post a picture already in the forum but as a thumbnail, how do i go about it?

mouser · « **Reply #46 on:** May 10, 2007, 04:11 AM »

lanux, can you explain a little more?
basically you just right click on the attached image, and youll see something like:

Code

http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1996.0;attach=17894;image

the forum always automatically makes a thumbnail of attached images, and that thumbnail url will be +1 of the attachment # for the fullsize pic, so:

Code

http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1996.0;attach=17895;image

so those urls are actually image urls, so if you wanted to show that picture in another post you could do:

Code

[img]http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=dlattach;topic=1996.0;attach=17895;image[/img]

here it is in action:

thanks, mouser.. that's exactly what i was looking for..

wjhsmf · « **Reply #48 on:** May 10, 2007, 01:38 PM »

Mouser,

I do use default theme and now the problem is that I want the thumbnail on the attachment, i.e. without any "attach" tags, and the thumbnail is in attachment section.

Thank you,

Hello,
I really like the work you're doing with SMF modifications.

I run a woodworking forum (www.festoolownersgroup.com). ; Your inline attachment modification would be great for us. Recently, I tried to install this, but received the following error:
1. Execute Modification ./Themes/default/Display.template.php Test failed

How do I fix this to install the modification?

By the way, I'm testing the modification below, first with my avatar:
[attachthumb=#1]

Next, with a tool picture:
[attachthumb=#2]

Works well!

Thanks!
