Amazon Echo: What Amazon says about their new whatchamacallit thingie - Amazon Echo is designed around your voice. It's always on—just ask for information, music, news, weather, and more. Echo begins working as soon as it hears you say the wake word, "Alexa." It's also an expertly-tuned speaker that can fill any room with immersive sound.

Here's a funny remix that shows what Echo might do.

Jim

Hahaha! That was very cute! :)

I worked on a large AI voice project a while back. It was fun, but I didn't exactly get to work in anything quite like what was in that video. (Though I really would have LOVED to have gone FUBAR on some things! I had countless thousands of ways to generate responses...) But, I actually ended up sanitising a lot of potentially offensive stuff... Not that I wanted to... sigh...

Noel Coward wanted to change his name to Noel Hero, all the judge said was "Really? Have you looked at a mirror lately?".
http://forums.online-sweepstakes.com/archive/index.php/t-113510-p-2.html

The following is the result of my search for Noel Claus and his brother Escape. Escape is a divorce lawyer who doesn't work for milk and cookies, they're a fringe benefit. Santa collects them for him on his route and give the people coal in their stockings if they provide poison or prank cookies(He can tell, he's Santa Claus). He leaves him the bag on his way home and Escape eats them the whole year. He thinks his female clients provide fancier cookies generally.

More where that came from:

Uncomfortable Questions: Was the Death Star attack an inside job?
Quote
Like many citizens, I have many questions that I would like answered: was the mighty Imperial government really too incompetent to prevent a handful of untrained nerf-herders from destroying one of their most prized assets? Or are they hiding something from us? Who was really behind the attack? Why did they want the Death Star destroyed? No matter what the answers, we have a problem.

Below is a summary of my book, Uncomfortable Questions: An Analysis of the Death Star Attack, which presents compelling evidence that we all may be the victims of a fraud of immense proportions.

I like the first video better, but the more the merrier!

Am I the only person getting this?

It seems to be an IE 11 problem. I don't have this problem in Chrome 38.

Played fine for me in IE 11.

I frequently suggest kicking it just to get a laugh out of people and/or to get a rough approximation of the device's location/environment without having to play 20 questions.

I think the source is the latest Window Update(last Wednesday). It only seems to be a small problem and only here.

Just got the updates caught up and tried again. It still plays. Although I had to disable MS EMET to get IE to load for some (very strange) reason.

Are you sure it isn't because you are a very strange person?

That's not the prevailing theory...but I'm not ruling anything out just yet.. :)

I had MS EMET on a very aggressive setting, so I'm guessing that it just was not allowing some post update first run modification to the browser. So I disabled its checks for IE briefly to get it to load, and then re-enabled them. *Shrug* All is fine now, so I'm just going to go with it for the moment.

What happens if you bump into someone with Positive Electrostatic Charisma? Do you both become absolute nerds?
