I take the Pledge.

Well, I'm not the best coder(yet[more interested in Information Security/Networks/etc] but I am getting better thanks to my Java class. I'll strive to release something, even if it might be not be all that advanced!

great

wraith808 · « **Reply #52 on:** December 12, 2006, 04:47 AM »

Count me in... I always have ideas, but never finish, so this is a good incentive to do so.

Redhat · « **Reply #53 on:** December 12, 2006, 06:46 AM »

I would like to participate.. totally a late decision but if I have time, you may see one from me too

Sorry I can't be more definate $:-\$

I'm afraid I've been doubting too long about this, but here it goes: I'm in too, with a productivity app.

I have a debatably useless VB project app I'm working on for a friend. I'm not an experienced programmer, so I won't vouch for it's quality; since I will be making it anyway, I could most likely submit it by that date.

awesome, welcome to everyone and keep 'em coming

i think we may have passed the threshold to order the mugs

Okay Folks,

I browsed through the topic once to get a list of people who want to participate. Some have indicated that they were not sure or are not quite clear about whether they are in or not.

It would be nice if the people marked with a question mark in the following list could tell us if they are in or not. I'm very curious about the number of apps that are really going to be released (in Beta or not). The list is getting quite large:

1. mouser
2. Mobysaurus
3. app103
4. Lashiec ?
5. Eóin ?
6. tinjaw
7. Ruffnekk
8. JoTo
9. Defenestration
10. Poolee
11. gregheaton
12. brotherS ?
13. dementedpuppet
14. skrommel
15. hamradio
16. E
17. hollowlife1987
18. skwire
19. doublebogey
20. kyrathaba
21. Deozaan ?
22. jgpaiva ?
23. Phate
24. wraith808
25. Redhat ?
26. Arjen
27. daedalian thoughts
28. Veign
29. Blaster

Well, I guess the new year has a lot of Beta testing and debugging sessions ahead

Man, it's going to be awesome!!

mouser · « **Reply #59 on:** December 13, 2006, 09:41 PM »

that's very helpfull Ruffnekk!
ok i suggest that on Dec 15 we send out messages reminding and confirming participation. hopefully not too many people will drop out at that point.

seems we definitely have enough for the mugs though.. i hope cody has been saving up his coins!

I may have an idea for a very simple, fun, online tool that I could put together in PHP. I just bought the domain name and will work on something for the challange.

mouser · « **Reply #61 on:** December 13, 2006, 10:25 PM »

great! i was just going to say that online tools count of course

and remember it doesnt have to be hosted on dc - to count, it just has to get released dec31 or jan 1, and be free/donationware.

Blaster · « **Reply #62 on:** December 14, 2006, 12:41 PM »

May we develop programme in some other language than English?

mouser · « **Reply #63 on:** December 14, 2006, 12:50 PM »

blaster - go for it

(just remember the program has to be freeware/donationware!)

The special NANY section where coders can post beta versions before deadline is now open, but until JAN 1 it will only be accessible by NANY participants.

It also contains a preview of the Cody mug design nudone did for all participants.

SO, now is the time to formally confirm you are still participating in NANY by posting a reply here or sending me a personal message via the forum (just click the little thought balloon to the left under by name), saying you are going to be submitting something, and i will give you access to this special forum section.

Veign · « **Reply #66 on:** December 15, 2006, 05:37 AM »

I still plan on releasing a fun little online application.

Ruffnekk · « **Reply #67 on:** December 15, 2006, 06:02 AM »

I'm still in, my app is ready for release

I've released the first beta in the NANY section now, check it out and please be honest about it

I can handle it!

CodeTRUCKER · « **Reply #68 on:** December 15, 2006, 06:52 AM »

I PM'd you... I'm good!

app103 · « **Reply #69 on:** December 15, 2006, 07:48 AM »

I am still in it...working on it tonight.

mouser · « **Reply #70 on:** December 17, 2006, 12:36 PM »

Here's the design of the mug you will get if you participate (designed by nudone of course):

All participants can view the current beta versions of NANY apps and post their own here:
http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?board=211.0

(note that section is only accesible for now to NANY participants - send me a personal message if you are a coder participating!)

jgpaiva · « **Reply #71 on:** December 17, 2006, 12:49 PM »

Beautiful!!!

Doesn't the code say 'I Love DC\n'?

Lashiec · « **Reply #72 on:** December 18, 2006, 12:14 PM »

Hey, hey, I'm not in! I was asking about that Visual Paradigm because that's what I'm going to do during Christmas as a project for the high school. I can't really see the utility of a bunch of UML diagrams

(at least for this contest)

If you do a "DonationCoder Summer of Code" take on Google's SoC, maybe I'll take that one. With some bit of luck, I'll have a bit more free time in summer than during Christmas

kyrathaba · « **Reply #73 on:** December 18, 2006, 04:51 PM »

Where is the link for submitting our N.A.N.Y Challenge software?

Veign · « **Reply #74 on:** December 18, 2006, 05:01 PM »

Send a message to mouser and he will make the NANY forum available to you. He may also see your post and open it up for you.
