But it's only one month away!

Oh, what the hey, I'll try to think of something...

How about Barnacle, the global toolbar that fits properly inside any window, with programmable buttons?

I have 2 problems

1. the last two apps i wrote were during work hours for work tasks, so the intellectual property belongs to work and we have patented them
2. i now have no more ideas!

Well you can out the requests in Coding Snacks to get some ideas

Keep in mind that for this challenge we are not asking for any exclusivity or intellectual property rights. in fact we never have for any of our contests or challenges - this site is not trying to own the rights for anyone's hard work! you write it, you own it!

It's just more of an attempt to get a bunch of people to release some brand new freeware/donationware all at the same time on Jan 1, 2007, and *announce* it as part of N.A.N.Y. project. You could even still keep the software on your own website, with just links back and forth.

But you might be saying that you can't make your programs available free to the public, which is a different matter of course.

I'm sure people here can help brainstorm some new good ideas (or chat in the irc channel to think up some).

Ok, Found a problem, googled for solution, none that fitted requirement, a AHK script should be possible. (and handy)

So dB swings wildly off the Tee.
see you on the Green, january 1.

hopeful score, a PAR.

..dB..
doublebogey

mouser · « **Reply #40 on:** December 07, 2006, 12:34 AM »

Don't put off your projects too close to deadline - if you're anything like me it will take you 10x longer to finish your program than you think it will in your mind.

Maybe we need some teasers..

My program is called "PHORP"

ps. actually that's just the acronym for it

Ruffnekk · « **Reply #41 on:** December 07, 2006, 06:35 AM »

LOL mouser, the acronym for my app is FRD. It’s just about finished

app103 · « **Reply #42 on:** December 07, 2006, 06:44 AM »

My current avatar is my app's icon.

JoTo · « **Reply #43 on:** December 07, 2006, 09:21 AM »

I develop "MusToe" for N.A.N.Y. :-))

Ruffnekk · « **Reply #44 on:** December 07, 2006, 09:34 AM »

Hmm.. sounds like an exercise app to develop very muscled toes

kyrathaba · « **Reply #45 on:** December 10, 2006, 02:31 AM »

I'm in

I'll have my program done before Xmas Day.

mouser · « **Reply #46 on:** December 10, 2006, 02:34 AM »

wonderful! Welcome kyrathaba

Deozaan · « **Reply #47 on:** December 10, 2006, 04:52 AM »

My app's acronym is CODY !

jgpaiva · « **Reply #48 on:** December 10, 2006, 12:33 PM »

I have one doubt about the NANY chalenge. The app has to be released on december 31st/ january 1st, but how about its beta versions? It can't have any beta versions released until then?
BTW... If i enter it, i can't release it on that day (i won't be at home

). Can i give it to you, mouser, and you'll release it for me?

mouser · « **Reply #49 on:** December 10, 2006, 09:39 PM »

The beta testing thing is a good point - i think we should treat all NANY releases as first release beta tests (but they should be fully functional and usable please).

ps.
because the Accessibility Game Contest final deadline is Dec 31st (but note that you must submit first version by Dec 22nd!), people are free to enter a qualifying game as their NANY entry if they want.
