Welcome Langalist newsletter members!

[mouser]

Find and Run Robot was mentioned in this week's Langalist newsletter: http://langa.com/newsletters/2005/2005-06-27.htm#8

i wanted to thank publically the person (Rajeev) who took the time to write in to them about F&R; it's a really nice feeling to see letters like that, and it's really only by word of mouth like this that people find out about our site.

and wanted to welcome langalist members to our site - hope some of you decide to stay and join us

it's always nice to have new people come and find a home here.

by the way, langalist is here: http://www.langa.com/

maybe if a long time langalist reader and fan sees this post, you can post a reply telling us a little about langalist and why you like it - members here might find that useful.

Hi I'm a fan.

You can always read the current free issue at http://www.langa.com/#c

Fred has a wealth of information and write columns for InformationWeek.

The newsletter is always very informative with lots of support type issues (dead hard disks etc), suggestions for good procedures (Windows setup, configuration, backup), lots of recommended software (that's how I found DonationWare.com).

There is also a good community feel - although you only really get to see the edited highlights that Fred choses for the newsletter - thought there are online forums too, and links to some articles at InformationWeek.

Note there are two versions of the newletter: one is free and is ad supported, the other is by subscription and is ad free, and also has extra 'Plus' content.

The Plus subscription is dirt cheap and well worth getting. It is $13.50 for a year, and there are two issues most weeks. See http://www.langa.com/plus.htm for details. The regularly updated searchable archive is worth it alone!

I have subscribed to Fred's list now for a few years, and it is one of the few newsletters I get that is read from beginning to end with every issue.

Check it out.

PS I forgot to say. If you take out the Plus version some of the money raised is used to send used computers to developing countries (at least it has in the past - not sure if this is still happening).

Some is also used in 'sponsor a child' schemes, with a number of children receiving support and a regular feature of the newsletter is updates on how the children a getting on.
