I've only got 11 Hi8 and two DV tapes to worry about - not sure I need that much overkill.
I've got a much better use for them - I remove the NIB magnets and let the kids play with them. Takes up far less space than a clutch of old drives.
Old drives tend to be space challenged and a single modern removable drive usually replaces three or four of them
It's a good use for those old IDE HDDs lying around providing you have a computer that still has an IDE port and don't put it on the same port as a ODD or the OS HDD.
