Author Topic: LATEST VERSION INFO THREAD - Easy Screencast Recorder - v1.17.01 - May 31, 2017 (Read 362,051 times)

There are several wishes which could increase usability and functionality of the application. Of course, if you have a desire to make it.

Why not to make highlighting of the mouse pointer and the performed operations: clicks by the left and right buttons? Presentation (informational content) of a screencast improves.

And it would be quite good to increase time of display of hints for options in the menu of settings. Or to hide hints after loss of focusing on an option.

Regards.

ESR is going to get an update soon.. Those are good ideas though not the very easiest to add.. Let me consider.

If use the option "Completely hide red..." in version 1.14.01, the problem with the red rectangle is missing.

I have just uploaded a new beta. For those that had to use this new kludge option because they were seeing the red box in their captures, I would be very interested to hear if the new beta solves the problem WITHOUT having to enable this kludge option.

I have one report that the new build fixes the red box problem (event with the fix checkbox option disabled) -- I'd like to get some more confirmations and then remove that kludge fix option.

I have been thinking about Kopejkin's requests -- it would be nice to have an option to show a text subtitle stating when keys were pressed or mouse buttons were clicked, etc.

v1.15.01 - May 22, 2017

[Improvement] High-DPI Windows (text size > 100%) is now supported well.
[Improvement] Installer now offers to run app after installation.
[Improvement] Options now accessible from system tray.
[BugFix] On windows 10 a remnant red overlay was seen when changing capture modes.
[BugFix] Another attempt to fix bug where Red region was stuck on screen for some people during recording; new kludge option that should absolutely solve it if you still see it.

Kopejkin · « **Reply #180 on:** May 23, 2017, 08:03 PM »

I confirm that the red field is no longer displayed during capture. An additional option is not used.
Checked on Windows 8.1 (x64) and Windows 10 (x64).

It's unclear just what this message is displayed when I start the program for the first time and select capture "Entire Screen"?

Thanks for testing and for the report, Kopejkin.

Can I trouble you to download the new version I just uploaded and see if that bug message is gone? I have removed the redbox kludge option since it's no longer needed.

Kopejkin · « **Reply #182 on:** May 24, 2017, 07:59 AM »

In version 1.16.01 the problem is not fixed. The message is there.

mouser · « **Reply #183 on:** May 24, 2017, 08:18 AM »

Thank you.
New version is uploaded. Hopefully this is the one that fixes it.

Kopejkin · « **Reply #184 on:** May 25, 2017, 07:30 PM »

Yes, the message no longer appears. The program works well.

mouser · « **Reply #185 on:** May 25, 2017, 07:37 PM »

Great

Thanks for testing.

Tell me please, how can I record sound from the computer speakers when I capture a screen with this program in addition to the sound from the microphone?

mouser · « **Reply #188 on:** May 26, 2017, 05:17 PM »

Don't know but when you figure it out let us know!

Here's a tutorial: https://www.howtogeek.com/217348/how-to-record-the-sound-coming-from-your-pc-even-without-stereo-mix/

Kopejkin · « **Reply #190 on:** May 26, 2017, 08:28 PM »

Thank you, Ath. Your advice works.
But it turned out that everything was not as good as it seemed to me earlier.

On my system, a "red solid rectangle" can be obtained by selecting the "Selected Window" capture mode and selecting the entire Desktop as the window.
In all other modes, a red rectangle does not appear.

mouser · « **Reply #191 on:** May 26, 2017, 08:33 PM »

Would it be possible for you to show me a screenshot of it?

This is a link to a video that demonstrates how the program works on virtual Windows 10 (x64).
On real Windows 8.1 (x64) the program works similarly.

mouser · « **Reply #193 on:** May 27, 2017, 11:33 AM »

Thanks, Kopejkin. Looks like one more try is needed to fix the bug.

techidave · « **Reply #194 on:** May 27, 2017, 12:21 PM »

what is kludge option?

mouser · « **Reply #195 on:** May 27, 2017, 01:18 PM »

It was an option to fix the bug where a red box was appearing on screen in recordings.

mouser · « **Reply #196 on:** May 31, 2017, 06:15 AM »

New beta version uploaded -- let me know if it fixes it.

Kopejkin · « **Reply #197 on:** May 31, 2017, 07:11 AM »

Unfortunately, nothing has changed. When you capture the entire Desktop in the "Selected Window" mode, the red rectangle is still displayed.
One more remark. After unpacking the zip-archive of the portable version of the program and only the first time the name of the "Selected Region" capture mode is not displayed in the capture mode selection field.

v1.17.01 - May 30, 2017

[BugFix] Rewrote redbox overlay code to hopefully eliminate spurious displays of red on some recordings.
[BugFix] Repeated calls to select window to capture might not work if dll hooks are disabled in options.
[BugFix] Better error reporting.

mouser · « **Reply #199 on:** May 31, 2017, 10:49 PM »

Ok after latest tests I think we have some progress.. Let's hope so!
New official version is uploaded.
