My rating:

My Recommendation: Quite a good watch for SF fans.

Season 1 Episode 8 (the last one) is here: http://www.tv3.co.nz/HUMANS-Season-1-Ep8/tabid/3692/articleID/118336/MCat/4668/Default.aspx

It's about human-like androids secretly designed with inbuilt consciousness. What could go wrong?

DarkHeart Productions' 2007 short The Black Button - the wonderful little movie that formed the basis of the feature length film The Box plus a host of imitators.

I watched this video 6 years ago and I have seriously been trying to find it ever since. I didn't remember the title; i thought it was gone. I was so excited when I found it! It's a great piece, I wish there could've been a movie made based on this idea.

Based on the horror-themed game for Andrioid comes a 20-part demon hunting video series called Camera Obscura.

Fun and predictable. And containing all the favorite elements (i.e smart and pretty heroine, evil family legacy, the geekly and soft-spoken would-be boyfriend, some cheesy special effects, etc.) - like most enjoyable horror stories do.

Many thanks to @Renegade for apparently posting the link to the Twilight Zone episode "Wordplay" by mistake to the discussion Re: Is the term "Negro" offensive or not?.

...One of the reasons that I love the Humpty Dumpty quote so much is that we **SHARE** language in ways that other things are not shared.
You don't get to change the meaning of a word by yourself.
It's nicely embodied in "Wordplay":

The trouble is, I couldn't recall whether I had seen that episode, so I had to watch it, but then it auto-played the next in sequence and I had to watch that...and then...etc.

Curse you @Renegade!

Oh, I know! That's a damn good episode, and probably one of the best Twilight Zone episodes ever.

It fits into discussions about language and linguistics just like the Humpty Dumpty quote from Through the Looking Glass.

And they are addictive... The series really nails so many different elements of human existence. The Monsters are Due on Maple Street is an excellent example.

My NAS is still down as I've not had time to get it up and running yet (need to rebuild and get a new drive), so I can't get to my collection there, which is probably good because I just don't have time for it right now.

^ very good

seems to be mainly based on the Johan Hari TED talk (Hari + his book are mentioned at the end of the video) -- it's worth listening to as he does go into more depth.

I'm not easily impressed but.... this blew my mind.
15 minutes, you won't regret it

"The end of the world seems like a nightmare to Ben. A memory of a past life that doesn’t belong to him. When Ben starts to remember Isabelle, the only love he’s ever known, he realises she’s missing in his life. An existential descent into confusion and the desperate need to find out the truth begins. This reality depicts a stunning, surprising and dark world. A world that is clearly not his."

^ very impressive

EDIT// I didnt read the quote before watching -- I dont know if it came from the authors, but I was glad I hadn't read it in advance.

Spoiler (click to show/hide)

I presume the point of the film is that many of us live in a world that clearly is not "ours".

A little more info on this one:

Here we are again: a short film with heavy use of VFX has attracted the eyes of a studio, which has bought rights to turn it into a feature. The short, Sundays, is described by its creators as “an ambitious philosophical science-fiction proof-of-concept short.” It’s pretty, I guess, but it also looks like a pastiche of a bunch of other recognizable concepts stitched together with glossy CG. (Think The Matrix meets District 9 as a basic starting point.) Nevertheless, Warner Bros. has now bought rights to the 14-minute short, and is making some plan to turn it into a feature.

The backstory here is a bit different than other similar-sounding situations. This isn’t just a short that came out of nowhere. It is based on the concept from a commercial director that a producer brought to agency UTA, which helped the director, Mischa Rozema, set up a Kickstarter to raise $50k, and it was shot and finished at the production and VFX house the director co-owns. The idea all along was to create interest in a feature version.
