Wimbledon 2017 Kim Clijsters gives man tennis skirt for hit at Wimbledon

the match is very entertaining, but had to wait too long to get to the man-tennis-skirt bit:

Which raspberry pie would you prefer to have? Regular or zero-calorie?

This post at desertsun.co.uk (part-copied below) seemed rather intriguing, and amusing - when I followed the links it gave me a LOL moment anyway. It seemed "wrong" on so many levels.
Follow all the the links yourself for what look like some remarkably silly threats/intimidation apparently tweeted in all seriousness by Wiltshire (UK) police. The comments are worth a read.

Yesterday I said the British police had hit rock bottom and started to drill. Last night they shipped in some dynamite:

A sobering thought is that the tweet comes from England, "the mother of all parliaments" (John Bright, 1865) and the source of the Magna Carta and Westminster democracy.

It's such a silly tweet stream, one wonders whether mischievous hackers may have hacked the Wiltshire police's tweet ID, just for a lark, like.    :o

the fourth is Atlantis, silly :p :D

It actually looks like some sort of creature from the imagination of Lovecraft, truth be told, with that third leg being a tongue, and instead of playfully playing with the ball, imagining the ball as Earth, and the creature's tongue caressing it in a prelude to eating it.

Creepy Little Girl Mask and Mask Maker, Landon Meier

How would you like for this little girl to be the first thing you see when you wake up?

[attachthumb=#]

I wanted to change the color of her t-shirt to match her hair ties, but it is more than one color in Paint and I couldn't find a way to do it in Paint.net. Could someone suggest a program to do it or do it with what they have?

A Girl Named 'Nurse'
« Reply #5366 on: August 08, 2017, 07:10 AM »
There once was a girl named 'Nurse'. As a child, everyone -teachers, hall monitors, librarians, summer camp counselors, and especially medical personnel, all had a terrible time trying to correct her name on all their forms; "...but, 'Nurse' is my name!"
"Oh no; you're joking, aren't you?"
Those were awful times for her. But when she grew up, she became -what else?- a nurse!
A typical day went something like this;
New D (doctor); "Nurse, your name tag needs correcting..."
N (the girl -now grown-up- named 'Nurse); "No, it doesn't..."
Round and round the conversation would go, until finally the HN (head nurse), was told by one of the other N's;' "Ma'am, she's (i.e. 'Nurse') doing it again..." Except, she wasn't doing anything wrong!
Then the HN would wade into the 'confrontation'; "Doctor, her name is 'Nurse', and she's an excellent one, I might add."
D "You--, You're not joking. Are you? Oh!, but that's so odd! Have you thought of changing your name?"
Finally, he (or she) would whirl about and storm off, looking flustered, and leaving Nurse 'Nurse' almost in tears.
Then one day, she was assigned to the Children's Ward, full of frightened, depressed, and overwhelmed little faces.
Full of terrible memories of her own victimization and mistreatment as a little girl, she reported to the Ward, and was sent to care for an acute leukemia patient; a little girl; "Hi there; my name is 'Nurse'. See? It's even on my name tag."
The confused girl patient (G) stared, and then smiled; "Does everyone call you that?" She smiled merrily because she'd gotten the 'joke'. Except, Nurse 'Nurse' was still wondering what was so funny about something that had made her feel so bad for all of her childhood years.
N "Uh-huh." And she thought, 'What the heck' and cracked a big smile in return.
G "Hello, nurse-nurse. I'm pleased to meet you," and giggled loudly.
Moments later, the distracted and confused D confided in an aside to N, "That kid has refused to cheer up or say a word to anybody ever since she came here! What'd you do, give her a shot of 'happy juice'?"
N "Nothing. I just showed her my name," and Nurse 'Nurse' showed D her name tag.
D "Oh. You're the one!" He smiled, although it clearly took an effort. "Now I get it. Well, we need you in this ward. Badly!"
N was a hit, scoring points with almost every kid on the ward, and it even became a favorite 'joke' for the juvenile 'old timers' there to 'break in' new kids who didn't know the 'joke' yet.
Then one day, a new doctor (ND) came sweeping grandly into the Children's Ward and went straight up to Nurse 'Nurse' and the Ward Doctor.
ND smiled grandly at D, and said, "Hi Doc! I'm Nurse Nurse's twin brother."
D "I'm Doctor --. I don't believe I caught your name--"
Just then, ND leaned slightly forward as he fingered his name tag; where the name should be, it read 'Doctor', as in; Doctor 'Doctor'.
As Nurse 'Nurse' smirked, D groaned theatrically; "Oh no. Another one!"

I saw a similar one somewhere (probably imgur) that said something to the effect of:

This Hitler "Downfall" spoof video probably expresses how I felt a few years back when Google Reader was killed off (now I use Bazqux, which in most ways is a superb alternative and in some ways seems even better than the original):

Hitler finds out Google Reader is shutting down

Here's an extended clip of the relevant part, with English subtitles, from the original Downfall movie:

Re: silly humor - post 'em here! Some humorous cartoons.
« Reply #5373 on: August 17, 2017, 05:42 AM »
I just today came across the website investors.com, where they seem to have quite a few clever and amusing cartoons about US current affairs (where "the American condition" seems to be  the object of mirth) and politics (where the borax seems to get poked equally at all parties).

In current affairs:
(a) there's this one, where I think the elephant represents the US voting public. In the first image, he has a blue tie, in the second a red tie and also in the third - where he seems punch-drunk from all the strong but polarised (they polarised him) and conflicting messages. Subtle.
Elephant changing its colours US election 2016 [humour].jpg

(b) there's this pragmatic puzzle - an externality caused by political correctness aligned with religio-political ideology - and that plainly now remains to be addressed/solved by society:
LBGT gender confusion restrooms [humour].jpg

(c) there's a child explaining the real climate problem to an utterly confused scientist. Look at the amusing detail on the chalkboard, chalking up the "decline" in the scientist's thinking, echoing "the writing's on the wall". Subtle. The cartoonist doesn't seem to miss a thing in the details.
Climate - diminishing settled science [humour].jpg

(d) then there's this "other side of the coin" one.
Mexico should build a wall 2016 [humour].jpg
