Überwallpaper!
« on: June 15, 2007, 09:46 AM »
I know a lot of you here are too hardcore and are likely to sneer at anyone who'd willingly give away precious clockcycles to fluff like desktop wallpapers but I do like collecting a few great ones. So go ahead and post one or two of your best dt wallpapers here.

I'm partial to upbeat looking ones and larger than life ones of space that get me all tingly! I'm tried and failed miserably at hosting these on Divshare.

I keep loading WB 5.5 and playing with it as well, but invariably return to my resource miserly ways

However, when I do mess about with WB, these are the wallpapers I like best:

Here's my desktop today:

And a few months ago (with WB installed):

EDIT: here's hoping I can get these images uploaded - this has been timing out for over an hour - the message went up after hanging for 15 minutes, but the pictures never made it.

I frequently pick a different one, depending on my mood, from a central repository where i keep most wallpapers I like, which you can view here: http://www.linkerror.com/wallpapers/

Most of them are from deviantart or some random google images search.

@App103 - I like your daughter's work.  Simple, not detracting from icons, but pretty.  It is amazing to me how many designs miss those points.

As for my wallpaper, I got it from Desktopography.  I think I heard about it here at DC, but I am not certain.  There are over 140 customized themes available from artists around the world.

A very cool site for fractal wallpapers is: Exoteric Roach

A few of my favorites... (note, virtually every other resolution is available on the Exoteric Roach website...)

Send her a private message and tell her. (maybe you can get her to finally make her first post  ;))

Just created this slightly NSFW wp for dual mons - my friend clicked the original at the Louvre or at some other museum in Paris (not sure about the copyright bit - pl. take it down if you believe it's in violation.) Anyhoo, here's my mostly twisted creativity at its "best."  :P

I've been a subscriber now to CGWallpapers.com for over a year and highly recommend it. Here's a free example:
