Screen Calipers on Bits du Jour Tuesday, March 20

[tinjaw]

From Bits du Jour : Tuesday, March 20: Screen Calipers - Here's a really handy little tool for measuring anything on your screen.

I have recommended this program in the past. I have been waiting for a DonationCoder discount on all three tools from Iconico. Maybe, if Screen Caliper does well at Bits du Jour, mouser can convince them to do a DC discount on a three-pack for us.

Thanks for posting Tinjaw. We're actually holding our 50% off coupon code open until after the weekend.

The coupon is valid for the PC and Mac versions of the Screen Calipers and also the PC and Mac Screen Measurement Pack, containing the Calipers, Protractor and Compass.

w00t!  I'm going to snatch this up. Thanks Nico.

But, wait a minute! This is Donation Coder, not BdJ!  How about, as a special Donation Coder super extra bonanza, if a DC forum member buys the Screen Measurement Pack (to get all three measuring tools) and posts to this thread letting you know they ordered, you throw in a free copy of the Screen Tracing Paper !!  I'd bet that would get a few people to give in and upgrade to the Screen Measurement Pack!

It seems the discount is only available for callipers or the pack of 3, and not protractor only (I just tried to order callipers only, with bdj discount code).
Is this right or have I done something wrong?
If its correct, could you consider extending your discount to the protractor as a single item please Iconico?

I just got home and ordered the pack. I had problems earlier today completing my order. I'm glad I finally got these as full versions. I couldn't justify the cost for the amount I used them, but I can at this price.

I'm not sure if Meazure will measure up to Screen Calipers.

But it's free although the author does request you to consider a donation.

On the very odd occasion that I need to measure an object on screen, I do find this quite useful.

"MeazureTM 2.0
What are the dimensions of that image? How big is this window? Does this layout fit on an NTSC display? What color are these pixels? What does this icon look like close up? How can I capture an arbitrary portion of the screen? These are just a few of the questions that kept coming up as I developed applications and web pages. Various tools are available to answer some of these questions but I could not find any that answered them all or that had a usable interface. So I created Meazure, a program that measures, magnifies and captures the screen by providing a battery of features in a cohesive user interface. Even better, Meazure is free!"
