Author Topic: SEPTEMBER SOFTWARE DRAWING RESULTS - POSTED! (Read 57,938 times)

pfflyer · « **Reply #25 on:** September 28, 2006, 02:32 PM »

Just want to say thanks to Donation Coder for creating a website of value. While it helps to have won some software

(Thanks!), it goes way beyond that.

In my first month of being a member here are the things I appreciate:
-a forum that has actual value
-jerk free (hope it stays that way)
-everyone wants to help
-great software
-partnerships with commercial vendors to provide discounts

Keep up the good work!

Yeah hope so but usually "big" forums attract many jerks.

Erm... Whatever happened to the TextPipe Pro prize?

Sorry i missed this question when it was posted.

The TextPipe people decided they didn't want to donate any copies for us to give away. It was my mistake to put it on the drawing form. It's the first time a company has declined to give us any copies, but I still should have confirmed with them first before I added it to the drawing form. My apologies.

I suggest to add a link to the corresponding announcement post in the forum (this one) when sending the mail to each winner

Definitely a good idea. I didn't discover this topic until the company sent the reg code with a link to here! Heh.
Many thanks! It'll be awesome to have the software's help in getting me organized.

BTW, allen, I just noticed your "banner" doesn't fit all the text. The way it is now will really make some people scratch their heads.

Now that I have this great font manager I just realized something...

12,485 fonts are not enough!

Maybe Carol, Ken, Allen, thunder7, and wraith808 can help me out?

(Is there a Font Addicts Anonymous?)

No problem, too bad they didn't want to donate any copies. That was my sole entry for the draw so I was curious what happened to it.

Thanks for the prize. Since discovering DC a couple of months ago it has become one of my "check every day" sites.

tinjaw · « **Reply #33 on:** September 30, 2006, 11:19 PM »

Well, I must admit that I think I won the best prize of the lot.

And to top things off, it was first time entering the drawing as I am a fairly new member. As a show of appreciation I have made a $25 donation today and gave all my credits to the site. Keep up the good work gang.

It did look like a good package -- but after thinking awhile I realized that for me it was in the "nice to have" category rather than the "something I'd use regularly" category.

Welcome to the site! I'm sure mouser really appreciates the donation

Nice job, and take care!

Try googling "font addicts" - I got 440000 hits! You are not alone.

My name is Carol and I'm a .... fontaholic ...

f0dder · « **Reply #37 on:** October 01, 2006, 11:46 PM »

I only get ~1700 hits... but I did use quotes around the words

KenR · « **Reply #38 on:** October 01, 2006, 11:54 PM »

Well yes Carol, having over 12,000 fonts is outrageous. I am MUCH more reasonable. I only have 11,954 unique fonts and as proof, I offer this image. I think we can both agree in the appropriateness of such a number.

ok, ok, My name is Ken and ...

Ken

I only have 280. Does that make me a social fonter? Is this problem genetic?

It could be...my dad has more fonts than I do.

Carol Haynes · « **Reply #41 on:** October 02, 2006, 07:29 AM »

I have currently 442 installed (which isn't too ridiculous) but I do run Xtensis Suitcase which allows you to instantaly acticate new sets of fonts and have around 10000 on various discs (most of which have never seen the light of day and I can't imagine when they would!)

Defenestration · « **Reply #42 on:** October 02, 2006, 09:44 PM »

Thanks for the prize. Been after it for a while

mouser · « **Reply #43 on:** October 02, 2006, 10:13 PM »

I'd like to remind people who win prizes or use discounts to consider writing a "minireview" if they are happy with their program.

insert_nick · « **Reply #44 on:** October 02, 2006, 10:28 PM »

I'd like to know if anyone among genezip, Parchuvegal, mikebd and fredchoum has received the unlock key for the DHTMLmenu software: I've sent an email yesterday but still no reply from them. Btw maybe it's just too early, I'll wait some more time without pestering them...

mouser · « **Reply #45 on:** October 02, 2006, 10:31 PM »

some companies always need reminding, happens every month

feel free to mail me (mouser@donationcoder.com) for help in reminding them.
maybe we should post on the results thread as each company sends out the winners (ie one post for each company, not one for each winner).

NigelH · « **Reply #46 on:** October 02, 2006, 11:46 PM »

No success yet either with 'EssentialPIM Pro'.
I emailed the company last Friday as well.

Any of you other winners have any success?

I received a big box with the mail today, containing a tiny cody figurine

Would just like to say that I've received my prize (Essential PIM Pro) and couldn't be happier with both the software itself, and the politeness and friendliness of the developers. Fantastic people creating superb software, s'what I like to hear

Many thanks again!
