You can now monitor new posts on this forum using any rss feed reader!

NEW: Add an rss feed for our blog!

To add an rss feed for just the topics of this official announcement section:
http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=.xml;board=48;limit=20;sa=news;type=rss2

To add an rss feed for the new twice-monthly official newsletters:
http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=.xml;board=69;limit=10;sa=news;type=rss2

Default rss2 feed for 5 most recent posts on the entire forum:
http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=.xml;type=rss2

(you can use rss or leave off the entire ;type=rss2 part if you just want xml and not rss)

Or perhaps you just want the last 10 posts on a certain forum:
http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=.xml;sa=recent;board=2;limit=10;type=rss2

(you can substitute board=2 with board=X where X is the number of the subforum you want to monitor; just click to view that section from the forum and find board=XX in the url window)

Or just want the last 10 TOPICS (not posts):
http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?action=.xml;limit=10;sa=news;type=rss2

You can also restrict any of those lists to a specific USER by adding u=# to the url, or u=#,#,#,.. to restrict to multiple users posts.

To help facilitate the use of rss feeds we will also start announcing in Living Room section whenever a new review is up or a new program is released.

If people would like to see a specific official announcement section of the forum let us know.

Found out about this site through Langa a couple of weeks ago and just joined-great service! I don't want to be notified every time a new topic is posted in the forums, but I do want a feed that will tell me every time a new program is reviewed. Is there a way to do this?

welcome to the site jason,

your request would be satisfied if we set up a special section of the forum for "official announcements",
like new reviews being posted, new software being released.
i.e. just the rare occasional official announcement.

probably not a bad idea; i think i will set this up unless people would prefer i don't.

the other solution would be to use a program like website watcher (see our review on webpage change monitors http://www.donationcoder.com/Reviews/Archive/WebWatchers/index.html), and have it monitor the reviews archive page or front page of the site.

to get a different rss feed for the last 10 topics (subjects) from another section, just go to that section, observe the board=## and replace it in url above.

The above url is not working with firefox 1.5..when i click on the link..it opens a download link for index.php and thats it...i'm clueless on how to add this link to firefox rss feed

nice idea but we are running out of space for buttons..

there's an rss button at the very bottom of each page though - but it just takes you to this very thread

looks like i introduced a bug in the rss feed a while ago when adding some custom fields. hopefully it is fixed now.
