This is kinda cool - the membership thing sounds reasonable. I like the idea that you can still get one free lesson of your choice each month even if you choose never to pay. All by one artist (Brenda Hoddinott).

A basic membership is completely free – and allows you access to all articles in the A-Resources section, as well as one free lesson of your choice each month. We are currently reviewing our bandwidth usage and site costs, and may change this to 2 free lessons per month.
Many of our members are very happy with this option for an indefinite period of time, and continue to enjoy the additional features on the site, such as the gallery and the forum for no cost whatsoever.
PREMIUM MEMBERSHIP
After you have been a member for a while and are completely satisfied and happy with what you find here, you are offered an opportunity to upgrade your basic membership to a Premium membership. If you choose to not become a Premium member, your free membership will still continue for as long as you wish!
A $20, three-month subscription (renewable if you wish), provides you with immediate, complete, unlimited access to the over 100 lessons on the site, as well as the 3-4 new lessons posted each month for the duration of your membership. You can either download or view all lessons on the site, whenever you want, and as often as you want. A Premium membership also entitles you to improved forum and gallery benefits.
