Sort by date

[asanz]

Is there any way to sort folders by date?  I'm showing the folder: C:\Users\Andre\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent, and would like it to sort by date, and not Alpha... Any ideas

Good idea -- I will add it as an option.

Great tool that took me forever to find.  Let me know if I can help beta test

Glad you like it -- it's definitely not the mostly widely known app, and there is definitely a learning curve -- so it always makes me happy to hear when someone likes it.

Anything I need to do to get the request added to the official table? : http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=10542.0

[mouser]

Thanks for reminding me -- i started adding it but then didn't finish -- i'll try to get to it this weekend.

Morning Mouser - checking in to see if there is a release for LaunchBar Commander...

Implemented; will be in next beta release.

As hinted at in the screenshot above, i've added a couple more features that will hopefully enhance the sort-by-date option.

Check out the beta and let me know your thoughts: http://www.donationcoder.com/forum/index.php?topic=2578

Awesome..!  Thanks for the update.  Not sure if the "section divider" is working as planned.  I've got a descending alpha sort on a recent files folder, and the divider seems misplaced (it is in between 2 files opened this morning).  Will use it for a few more days and report back... but thank you!!

[mouser]

You mean you've got a descending DATE sort?

Using divider option in Alpha sort mode is simple -- it divides into sections for each letter.
Using divider option in Date sort mode is more interesting.  It basically groups the first group into files within an hour from each other, next group within a day of each other, next group within a week, next groups within a month.  Enable the timestamp option to see the actual dates for the files/folders so you can better understand.
