Clicking the link "RAR file" downloads a file called "PasteAsFile.rar."

Seems to work--Very Nice!
Thanks for Shareing

Note that it seems to work better if you use an ICO that has only the appropriate sizes...

I applied a custom icon to xplorer2_ult.exe.  First I tried an ICO that had all standard sizes (16 .... 256) and PEIC crashed.  Did it again with a version of the ICO that had only 16, 32, 48, and it worked fine.  (using Win 7)

Ok. Thanks. I think I'm going to have to state the supported sizes in the help file.

I developed it on Win 7 64. It works fine for me... Not sure what the problem would be. I'll see what I can find.

That is part of what changes the icon. What exe were you trying to change the icon of? Did you make sure that the exe was not running (I'm going to add a check for that in the next version)?

Problem solved. It only crashes when using a converted images to ICO as the replacement icon. Otherwise, it seems to work just fine. I used QIcon Changer before to do this.

I took a look. Same issue kunkel321. I removed the 256 icon from the file you sent and it works fine. So only use icon that have 16, 32, and 48 size icons.
