Star Convert

Hello all! I'm here to announce my latest app called Star Convert. It is an app to convert different file types using the file context menu item. Currently in testing phase so I am hoping for some good feedback. The current conversion types are as follows:

• To and From jpg, pcx, png, bmp, tga, gif, tif
• From jpg, pcx, png, bmp, tga, gif, tif to PDF (java is required for this conversion)
• From ICO to jpg, pcx, png, bmp, tga, gif, tif
• Icon from EXE and DLL files to ico, jpg, pcx, png, bmp, tga, gif, tif
• Any plain text file or HTML file to PDF

I do not have a web page set up yet so it can only be downloaded from here for now.  Star Convert download

You may want to update your copyright statement to state 2013 for the year where your copyright starts.

Where did you see a different year? I see only 2013. Glad you like it.

Pretty cool idea!
Possible bug:  Select multiple JPGs >> convert to PNG >> first one converts as expected, then you get "Already exists: Overwrite?" message >> CLick OK


Why the countdown timer?

Thanks for the report. I'll be looking into that today. As for the countdown, I am trying to make a few extra bucks to make ends meet, but I didn't want to remove any features of the app either so I added the 5 second delay. If the user likes it they will be able to purchase a reg key to remove the delay. I also hope to add other conversion types in the future also.

I did make a small update though I am unable to recreate the error you got. I should mention that Star Convert is mainly for just one file at a time. You can select multi files, but you will get a dialog for each file selected. I updated the help file to say this also.
