OK something really weird going on -
first contact with the site is very slow and erratic (including re-download of latest version from your link above)

Second:
I have really weird problem of a letter being changed in the password when it gets saved in the ini file
actually I'll email you about that one.

edit/ I wanted to change my password and email you the one I was having problems with - but I'm unable to change it

When I logged into the site it goes directly into the worklog I normally use
i.e. it's showing me (full page size) the red screen with 'stop' button - which means it's running.

Actually looks like it was running all the time - but it doesnt reflect the work I did on this job yesterday (also logged in via the website)

I am unable to stop it using the stop button. Eventually I click to use one of the icons below to get to an overview - I can stop it from the page that shows all logs.

Unfortunately it was running all the time - after clicking the icon for work-details the total jumped from 750 or so, to 3,500 - unfortunately I have only done round about 900 worth on this job (also unfortunatley, I didnt keep track yesterday of total - my bad).

The sums dont add up though - at my hourly rate, if it was running for say 24 hours non stop, it wouldnt come to 2,500

Also, the work details do not show any details - I occasionally added comments after clicking stop button - there's no sign of these.

If you want we can continue this per email - or if you have a landline I can ring you (I *think* I'm not covered for cellphones).

^ for some reason it was running for a few days - I suspect when I turned off computer I didnt stop it and the timer kept going.

Apparently here is a way to correct a screwup like that -
see tooltip:

[attachimg=#]

double-click on a date-time in the log & edit, refresh page to get new total

Site is looking good now

which is called security :-[
- it was actually almost or maybe all letters changed :-\ so much for being observant!

But just wanted to report that a password saved in preferences is not used when you start the gui -
seems to be broken since the last security fix - just the username gets filled.

Hey I'm pretty sure this is an IE8 javascript engine problem, meaning if you allow your computer to update to IE9 everything should be fine.
My computer just upgraded automatically so I can't test it out on IE8 again.

Is there a reason you want IE8? Or just haven't thought about it?

Because if there IS, I can work on a fix for it, if not, I won't worry about it.
Thanks,

^ No, dont worry about it - there's no reason of any importance that I'm still with it.
I keep planning to upgrade, but keep pushing it down the list -
I guess cause I never actually actively use IE.

in the edit/worklog page:
the option to edit the time worked via the little clock icon, that doesnt work.

I *can* edit the end date-time, but editing the time (length) would naturally be easier.

Editing the time (minutes worked) should modify the End Time, after putting "10" for 10 minutes, look over the end-time and confirm if it is actually 10 minutes. If you are satisfied, press enter

What didnt work for me before was editing the 'Time duration' - but I just tested it again and it works now

notice the "s"

Hi,
I like what I have seen very much indeed.
Where can we buy and download the stand-alone version for hosting on our own server?
Thanks,

Ok originally that is what I was thinking of doing, selling the source code for private installs.
In the mean time, I have instead received advice for charging a monthly fee (which I plan on implementing in the next few months at cworklog.com).

Depending on the price or interest, I still may sell the source for private installation, but the problem is what licensing do I put on the source code, and what about upgrades? Since the main site (cworklog.com) will be updated frequently with added features, you may find you want those features.

Since the original post,  I've changed the web server to linode, I have purchased a security certificate, i have paid programmers and testers to help get cworklog.com on the road and I am in the middle of working on an windows/macos/linux time-tracker that synchronizes to the server while it is online, and still tracks your time while you are offline (the current GUI only works while online).

In short, in about 3 months, I will have a monthly payment plan to use the secure https://cworklog.com with all the updates and features.

As far as a private installation, you might want to contact me about rights and what you intend to use it for and perhaps we can come up with something. (relipse@gmail.com).

Notes* I am also looking to do an android and iphone app to also monitor offline usage.

Ok well thank you to a special friend who donated a few hours of his time to phonegap,
I have now come up with the alpha/beta version of android client!!!

check out my brand new android time tracking app --
https://cworklog.com/downloads/cworklog.latest.apk

test out with: username: test116 password: test116

(if you use this for production, make sure you double check time logs, this is beta software)

Update: cworklog.com has gone open source and you may visit http://github.com/relipse/cworklog to download to your own machine.
Also, the ANDROID App is now working again
and cworklog.com now has SSL so you may visit https://cworklog.com
