Program restarts, hibernations and shut downs software

[Contro]

I would like the most complete scripts for this purpose :

With these possibilities
- system restarts programmed each 20 minutes
- option to restarts in safe mode and program this option
- option to succesive restarts or even shutdowns if possible.
- restart and launch after some minutes a special program for that occasion.
etc.

What is the best ?
P.D. Not languages please, AHK is the best of course.

I have found this one :

Wise AutoShutDown

But I would like :
1. Be able to schedule a restart in several hours periodically (not only daily)
2. Be able to schedule a restart in safe mode, and then other two hours later in normal mode.

[Ath]

What would you be using this for?

Perhaps something you can use the built-in Windows Task Scheduler for?

It seems the capital question. To depure the system , I think.
Nevertheless I would like to try the process is not illegal.....

In the past I think I have tried to reenter in safe mode. We have to modify the msconfig I think.
I usually use Restart because I have so many times installed windows xp pro in the same pc, and ubuntu, as you may know.
What I am looking for is a flexible tool. But don't ask me the exact purpose because I only imagine.
I have six systems under xp. Suppose I want to do some task depending on the system, because each system is specialized.
I am trying at these moments windows 8 because possibly my future pc will goes with multiple virtual machines under w8. But i will continue with xp pro in the backfront.

I usually don't turn off my pc's. They are all the day on.
I have read the system degenerated after many hours turn on.
Depuring the system if often in safe mode.

so perhaps you have an idea what i am looking for, but I would to know is possible anyway.

Just too complicated for me. I want automation with AHK or any other script. A complete and powerful script without the knowledge and sacrifice a programmer needs.....

Now to wait for the future.

There are lots of programs to do pieces of the things you want, but nothing I know of that puts them all together.

* Scheduled reboots by Poweroff
* Multiple reboots by Rebooter
* Boot into safe mode by BootSafe

Poweroff at least has a very good command line so you could script most of its actions as desired.

[Contro]

Thanks a lot x16wda.
A little of each piece is much.

I will comment

[Contro]

BootSafe don't go in my systems.
I think is because is not prepared to manage boot.ini with multiple systems.

This is the mine :

[boot loader]
timeout=3
default=multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(\WINDOWS
[operating systems]
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(\WINDOWS="ST System Technics" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /noguiboot
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(3)\WINDOWS="SP System Proofs" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /noguiboot /BOOTLOGO
C:\CMDCONS\BOOTSECT.DAT="Microsoft Windows Recovery Console" /cmdcons
UnsupportedDebug="do not select this" /debug
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(10)\WINDOWS="AM Alcanzar M" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /noguiboot
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(1)\WINDOWS="SO System Ocium" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /noguiboot
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(4)\WINDOWS="STo System Tomas" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /noguiboot
multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(5)\WINDOWS="SG System General" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /noguiboot
C:\wubildr.mbr="Ubuntu"

I think in the past I have modified this boot.ini and add a modifier in the line of the system I want in safe mode. I remember was easy to do this and after modify the boot.ini again.

Is it possible a AHK script to do this ?

Best Regards

[Ath]

In the Windows 2000 era I've created a tool called BootSwitch, to switch between entries in boot.ini, but after Windows XP it was useless, because of the new boot-config database introduced in Windows Vista.

I've attached a zip with an installer for that tool.
- Created by me using Delphi 5 (AFAIR)
- No crapware added
- No guarantees (haven't touched it in over 10 years!)

[Contro]

Wooovvvv.
I'll try and comment

[Contro]

Ja Dutch. Wonderful.
I have tried and see the lines of my boot.ini are editable. So perhaps if I will remember how to put the modifier to begin in safe mode.

/safemode ?¿?¿?¿?¿

Note : the program is similar to Restart, but more complete.

I am trying to understand Passmark rebooter. Seems very interesting, but I don't understand the 15 secs.

My system last a little more to load, or even in closing.

How can I cycle ?

[x16wda]

This is from the help file about Cyclic Rebooting.  You would need to set up the Auto-Login section and enable it, then set up a shortcut in your Startup folder to the program, making sure to include the -Reboot option.  Then set the number of reboots you want on the screen and click Reboot Now to start...

"This page gives a brief description of how a PC can be set-up to reboot itself in a cycle.

Step1 – Select and save Rebooter settings
Start Rebooter and use the “Clear” button to return the reboot count to 0.
Set the ‘Maximum Reboots’ value to the number of cycles required.  <--- MY NOTE: how many times you want to reboot
Set the other parameters in Rebooter. (Reboot type, Delay, etc). Don’t set the delay value to be too short, as you want Windows to fully boot before starting the next cycle. 20 Seconds is a good value.  <--- MY NOTE: you may want it to be longer than 20 seconds!
Save the settings, with the ‘Save Options’ button.

Step2 – Create an autorun shortcut
Create an autorun short cut that points back to Rebooter executable. See the auto-run page for help on how to do this. The shortcut must use the  ‘-Reboot’ command line parameter.

Step3 – Start the cycle
Click on the “Reboot Now” button to start the cycle.

Each time Rebooter is started with the ‘–Reboot’ command line parameter, the reboot counter in incremented. Once the reboot counter becomes equal to the Maximum Reboots value no further cycles will be executed and the reboot counter will be reset to zero (ready for the next run).

[Contro]

Seems a good explanation.
Tryingggggg

[Ath]

Ja Dutch. Wonderful.

Sorry, as I said, haven't worked on it (or used it...) for ~10 years

Right-click a button, choose 'Algemene instellingen...', in the first combobox select English and press the OK button.

[Contro]

Bingoooooooooooooooooo
Eurekaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa

multi(0)disk(0)rdisk(0)partition(\WINDOWS="ST System Technics" /noexecute=optin /fastdetect /safeboot:minimal /noguiboot

This line give me the opportunity of enter in safe mode basic.

What can I automate this without need each time of modify boot.ini ?¿?¿?¿?¿¿

My boot.ini is up in this same post.

Ath. Your program works wonderful. and I am going to try to modify that line I put before through your soft.

This perhaps was the important question I suggest at the beginning and now I have the opportunity to try modifying the boot.ini and reboots. Because logically this soft goes through the existing boot.ini.
With more or less effort, thank to your effort of course, I am beginning to get the target.
