On a lighter note: A Man Said to the Universe

You know the classic Stephen Crane poem (circa 1899)

A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the universe,
"The fact has not created in me
"A sense of obligation."

This has been kicking around in my head lately, with variations. There have been a few "heavy" threads lately, and I have wanted to balance it out a little with something on a lighter note. Please add your own variations!

Modern Version

A man said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"Your call is very important to us," said the universe.

Selective Indifference

Lady Gaga said to the universe:
"Sir, I exist!"
"I can't hear you," said the universe.
"I'm listening to Adele on my iPod."

The Tables Are Turned

The universe said to a man:
"Sir, I exist!"
"However," replied the man,
