Jaw drops...highly regarded third party equivalent to Adobe Acrobat for $9.95.  Have you or anyone dealt with wondershare before, I haven't heard of them, but maybe that's just me.

[Curt]

forgive me for saying so, but...   that would just be you!

Wondershare is a trade company. I am not too sure they develop much themselves, but they offer a multitude of converters. AnyBizSoft is just one of their many co/sub-companies.

This offer is a "code 3" discount, meaning it does not give the right to upgrade with an otherwise normal discount.

I knew I was setting you up for that when I asked, lol

That's an amazing deal.

EDIT I think I had this mixed up with Nuance PDF Converter. Still looks like a good deal, but different feature set I think.

[Curt]

Yeah, the $100 Nuance at $10 would make a jaw drop. However, a program from Wondershare is usually not a "highly regarded third party, equivalent to Adobe Acrobat" - not even a $80 converter for $10 - so you probably confused the names.

Don't over-interpret me; the program's quality is just fine. Plain and simple, but okay.

[Curt]

This offer is a "code 3" discount, meaning it does not give the right to upgrade with an otherwise normal discount.

-that was then. Today's offer is a "code 1" -offer, giving you normal rights. Only available today via Giveawayoftheday and >this link<. Wondershare has apparently closed AnyBizSoft, and is re-launching their products under the Wondershare -name. However, the new "PRO" editor converter has clearly been further improved; it now includes OCR.

Pro's "normal price" is said to be $80, but today only it is merely $15.
A fine offer.

Link in first post is still active - but, okay, I see the more recent offer is upgradeable.

Are you happy with it Curt?
Have you used the OCR capabilities?

[Curt]

I merely purchased it, I don't actually use it, because it 'only' is a converter,
but I already have Nitro OCR Pro; converter and editor.

[bob99]

Curt,

Thank you for the GAOD link above.  Worked fine and have the key already.

I merely purchased it, I don't actually use it, because [...]

Well, I'm not too far behind you
I got a copy of [I-cant-even-remember-it's-name] for managing PDF's - with OCR, but haven't installed it yet...

[Curt]

-oh yeah, I remember that one. I have not yet downloaded my licensed copy ;-)

[MerleOne]

Just saw today on Raymond.cc another link the same software, this time for $9.95 !!!

Time for a class action ?  Just joking...

Edited : actually I think I am rather lost, the first link for the first message was already $9.95 !

that confused me earlier, but it's related to this:

This offer is a "code 3" discount, meaning it does not give the right to upgrade with an otherwise normal discount.

-that was then. Today's offer is a "code 1" -offer, giving you normal rights. Only available today via Giveawayoftheday and >this link<.

i.e. with the cheaper offer you get no upgrade discount (whether it will ever be upgraded seems uncertain to me though...)

[MerleOne]

Thanks for clarifying it.

BTW, I had the chance to try it on a scanned English text, I used first the OCR integrated within Office, and there was many ill-recognized words, bur with this Wondershare application, it was perfect (only the first page was ocr'd in the demo version).

[Curt]

Wondershare PDF Converter Pro version 3 is also being offered with the name Aimersoft PDF Converter Pro version 1, right now at half the price: $40, (instead of $80, instead of $15, instead of $10).
Well, the program is okay, but merely a converter: http://www.aimersoft.com/newsletter/pdf-converter-pro/0416/index.html - still 265 MB. The offer is valid until 19/Apr /2012.
