[Renegade]

Very slick stuff. The comments at GoTD aren't very useful. It looks like some commenters don't understand what it is or what it is for.

I can see it being worth the $380 to have a super-slick manual displayed on your web site.

[Renegade]

Just installed it in a VM and did a test. Works very well.

For anyone that is looking to publish PDF files on a web site, get it!

[Curt]

-I agree. Installed & tested; Works very well.

[cranioscopical]

Here it just handled a 324-page pdf very nicely.

[Carol Haynes]

I like it but it doesn't seem to be registered on my system (still has a get license key link).

There is a license key in a folder in the applications folder but it rejects it if you try to register the app.

Not sure I could find $380 dollars worth of use for it - seems a bit on the basic side. Now if it had a fast text search feature that could be very useful.

[Curt]

it is registered. The words "register now" is if you should want to purchase it.

[Bionic71]

Not worth $380/$800 by a longmile.
No search - no TOC? - all in all axMag lacks customization.

A cheaper solution (A-PDF) twice featured at Bitsdujour.

Willing to pay $380? then visit here hence much better.
http://page-flip.com/

Flip PDF & FlippingBook Publisher, highly recommended & I'm using both - Flip PDF is clone of FlippingBook Publisher's v1.xx.
However page-flip.com could look over their licensing making FlippingBook affordable for homecomputing & single user licenses.
--
As for axMag - do you have powered by axMag in upper right corner of your publication?
You should then contact them to have this resolved, leave an email message at info@axmag.com with subject: GOTD free offer registration issues.

This restriction might make it a bit of a showstopper for some (emphasis added):

Terms and conditions

Please note that the software you download and install during the Giveaway period comes with the following important limitations: 1) No free technical support; 2) No free upgrades to future versions; 3) Strictly personal usage.

Looks like commercial use is not allowed.

So creating user manuals for your products may be a "no go" depending upon exactly what they mean by "personal use." (There are several ways to interpret that phrase within the context of a EULA.)

That looks much nicer and seems to be more customisable.

Other choice,I strongly recommend aXflip page flip maker . It can convert images ,pdf,Microsoft word and PowerPoint to page flip books.I really have no experience with anything else, and I rarely stitch.. so take that for what it’s worth.http://www.axflip.com

I strongly recommend to delete spam messages.

If someone posts a reply that is on topic, and not an affiliate link, and it's not a copy and paste job, we do not consider it spam.

However, it is frequently the case that people post such links when they have a relationship with the company and do not disclose this fact.  That we do not allow - we require posters to disclose their relationship with products they post about.

But this may simply be someone recommending a product.

Not sure if that's spam, above sites are the same, products way overprized.
I've tracked them for a while & updates/upgrades pretty much nonexistant.

If you need this type of software go for something decent

FlippingBook is actively updated with new features all the time,
Their facebook is great, http://www.facebook.com/#!/flippingbook
They're using a votebook feature where users can vote & suggest.

They do listen & if you're lucky you can even win a license for free.
They're kind to translators & beta testers giving away licenses for free.

I am not spam  or am I?

[Carol Haynes]

Or FlipPDF that I mentioned earlier at $99 as copy - and having bought it it is more customisable as far as I can see. They also do a pro version which is more expensive at $299 but allows you to embed buttons and javascript links, add Falsh and SWF files and sound.

Comparison at:

http://www.flipbuilder.com/flip-pdf-pro/index.html

It is also regularly updated. Confusingly this website is an offshoot of A-PDF and all support and emails seem to come from that site. FlipPDF used to be sold on that site but has now been forked to its own website (although it sill links from the old site too and the download file name is still a-pdf-pt.exe (showing its origins).

I have to say the odd time I have had a question has got an email response within hours - usually the same day, which is not bad given time zone differences.

2) http://www.flippagemaker.com/flippingbook-maker/index.html
3) http://www.boxoft.com/pdf-to-flipbook/

All the same as well, different versioning but equals same package you bought, updates often same dates.
Your license key is accepted on above 3 sites but not main site "A-PDF" where they also sell this program.

That's four websites for same program & likely more on the way.

FlipPDF equals FlippingBook v1.xx, it's an exact clone, they may have purchased sourcecode of 1.xx.

FlipPDF pro version..ehm, I wouldn't go there hence I think it's badly implemented.
Standard version is OK.. I have this version myself.

As for "Confusingly this website is an offshoot"

Wow.. then we should discuss video/ripping/burning type of software,
I lost count on some vendors (no names) but 10-15 offshoots are not unusual for one same program.

I don't like this strategy at all.

[Carol Haynes]

Ugh.

I hate people who use these pdf-to-flash, and with a passion. Just gimme a good old download link so I can use my PDF reader of choice, instead of being forced with a slow and crappy UI running in the most CPU-sucking, security-holed and unstable piece of crap software on the web.
