People who should know better, people who do know better are also really really stupid http://www.computerworld.com/s/article/9158258/Most_Windows_7_PCs_max_out_memory

After repeated warnings, a woman in SA 'chose' to respond to the Absa Bank Phishing scam email! She was on TV bemoaning her account being wiped out -when will they learn!
I saw a great bumper sticker: "God must love stupid people. He made so many of them!"

- it's on slashdot as well... what a moron than Craig/Randall guy is. The /. post about Ars rebutting the crap article is here, and the post about the original article is one of those few situations where the /. comments are actually relatively intelligent and well-informed.

I have won the lottery in the UK so many times {although I NEVER play any lottery} but just could not bring myself to respond to the "Official" email address like RoyalLottery@yahoo.com.uk
I dont think this is stupidity - it's ignorance - these are mostly people who have never learned (in the sense of being taught, but maybe in every sense?!) about using a computer.
(....)
There was a vid a while back somewhere asking people what a browser was (prompted by google's new os) that was fun - found it http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=o4MwTvtyrUQ
I browse low, therefore I'm dumb.

WOW. Just.... wow. OK, so the method of typing in a site's name or even URL into Google to find it, I get that it's common, and maybe it's not totally retarded.Actually, it's not retarded at all. If you don't have a bookmark for a site, it makes sense to Google it. This way you don't accidentally get a phishing site because you didn't get the URL exactly right. This is particularly true when the most reasonable address has been cybersquated by some dirtbag.
I am sad for the future of mankind.
If you want to be sad, see the future of online chatting: http://chatroulette.com/
Click away people you don't want and get a a new chat partner in an instant. And you better be interesting yourself, else you'll be clicked away before you can say a word.
I've pretty much quit any message board I was ever a regular at.People are rude, stupid, etc even on help threads lol. This board is mellow and helpful I like it
I wouldn't go so far as to call them stupid, just disinterested, and very funny!

It's really more a matter of: "There's my way -- and the wrong way."

What have they done now. It's not simple enough for me to figure out.

You are all fantastic people. Each and every one of you is a gorgeous, unique, mind-boggling contribution to the human race. I thank God that such people are alive.
