Author Topic: Anybody else playing with Wave? (Read 35,401 times)

I got my Google Wave invite, and played with it a bit during lunch. It's kinda cool, but for the rough edges (which is why it's still in preview).

But the majority of the Waves in the server now are "Testing Wave" and "Is this thing on?" kind of thing. Are there any DC people in the heap, especially if you're experimenting with anything interesting?

Most of us are still waiting for our invites. If you get any, send them our way.

I am. I have a few invites if anyone wants one, just let me know.

I sent one to both of you. GW says that they do not send them out right away though.
I have six invites left.

Thanks. Hopefully it will come soon. I look forward to playing around with/on the Wave.

Well if you're just passing 'em out, I'm certain I could get some good testing in on it! I'll even say hi to you.

Deozaan: I see that you posted in the other thread that Wave is similar to onenote. Did you already receive the invitation and signed up?

rno2 · « **Reply #9 on:** October 15, 2009, 05:51 AM »

PM for an invite with your email address. The first six will get the invites. I posted this in the other thread also.

rno2 · « **Reply #10 on:** October 15, 2009, 06:36 AM »

I have five left now.

Kamel · « **Reply #11 on:** October 15, 2009, 06:41 AM »

If I'm unable to be invited by rno2, just wanted to express my interest in an invitation. I did send him a pm though, so hopefully he has enough left for me one.

rno2 · « **Reply #12 on:** October 15, 2009, 08:05 AM »

I am down to two invitation left.

rno2 · « **Reply #13 on:** October 15, 2009, 10:12 AM »

I am now out of invites. Sorry everyone.

sri · « **Reply #14 on:** October 15, 2009, 10:17 AM »

Thanks again rno2.

I received the invitation mail 1 hour ago.

This morning I woke up and then laid around in bed a little longer and fell back asleep. I then began to dream that I had received my Google Wave invite and that I was playing around with it.

Then I woke up and checked my e-mail and voila! Google Wave invite! Thanks rno2!

No I hadn't. I was just basing that opinion on the video for Google Wave.

Anyone else with Google wave invites, I'd sure like to join. It certainly looks interesting and from the video, I'd say it kinda reminds me of Microsoft's OneNote application. Anyway, if there is anyone out there with an invite handy, I'd sure like to join and check it out first hand. Thanks in advance.

FWIW, I think that GW, when used by a single person, is a lot like OneNote. But that's ignoring a huge point of GW's capability, the collaboration features. (OneNote has some sort of collaboration, but I've never used it. I'm sure it's not as robust as GW's.)

I too would surely like to play a bit with it.
Thanks!

Now that we've got a few more DC members on the Wave, let's share information so we can have a DC Wave-athon!

I don't know for sure, but I think you can find me using deozaan @t googlewave d0t come but if that doesn't work then replace googlewave with gmail and that should be fine.

Woohoo, just got my invite! Thanks rno2.

Deozaan, I'll try to look you up after my staff meeting, or later today.

I added my email address on their 'request an invitation' page a while ago, don't know if I should wait for it or ask an invite from someone

I added myself to their list a few months ago and finally only got one after rno2 sent an invite. In my case, until I was in the Wave, I was doing everything I could think of to get in there as soon as possible. But I suppose it all depends on how eager you are to try it out.

I gotta tell you that there doesn't seem to be a lot to do in there right now without other people I know playing around in there with me. That's why I'm hoping to get more of us DCers in and playing around in a big DC Wave-athon.

Good points

small groups may be good for getting familiar with features and tricks

If anybody has an invite to spare it would be great

J-Mac · « **Reply #24 on:** October 16, 2009, 02:20 AM »

I'll gladly accept an invite if someone still has any to offer. PM me for email addy.

Thanks!
