Any of the winners receive their license yet? Just want to make sure mine didn't get lost.

I had the same thought.
Not so far, in my case.
I am living in suspenders

I have heard nothing from him so far, so I guess he is busy. But like someone said, can't complain about having to wait a little for a free license

.

I've always wanted to try to use TC, but the .. well .. let's be honest .. ugliness kind of kept me from doing so. Also I had this feeling it was a very die-hard product where people would discuss endlessly about which keyboard shortcut would be the most optimal to save 0.0001 second when performing some operation.

After having tried it for a while now and reading (and even daring to post on) the forum over there, I've come to the conclusion that I quite like some aspects of it .. there are some situations where a Norton Commander type interface just beats explorer type ones, and others where explorer are better. So having both TC and DO is great

.

I was a little disappointed searching through the forums that some suggestions are handled by suggesting people to use AHK scripts or external tools (like KatMouse) instead of fixing the actual program. But of course I am sure the author is a very busy guy, and at least the avid forum posters over there give some options. It just feels like it is going a bit against the whole "this is a power tool that uses as few resources and is as fast as possible" scheme.

Anyway, I am just rambling here .. I am sure he will get around to us lucky winners

.

Crap! I thought I posted more info here

Dear winners!

Christian had sent me confirmation email on Friday (12th) and asked what to do with "missing" user details (like postal code, city). I told him to ask you because I don't need to know your personal info and I've already told you, guys, that he'll ask by himself.

I know he is busy with beta stage but I don't think it will take longer than few more days to receive your keys.

mouser · « **Reply #29 on:** June 15, 2009, 08:56 PM »

please pass on the thanks of DC to Christian !

Regarding TC's looks: everything you see on the screen can be changed. Fonts, icons, program elements, and even the menus. If you find something to be ugly then change it. First thing I always turn off is those ugly brackets around the directory names.

No worries. Just wanted to make sure nothing went wrong.

What personal information? Maybe we should take the initiative and compile it and email it to him ourselves? I'm all for doing anything that makes his job easier.

Standard key contains: first name, surname, postal code, city and country.

Does one of us want to act as co-ordinator for collecting this, or shall we all email separately?
I'm pretty sure I didn't provide all of that.

Innuendo · « **Reply #34 on:** June 16, 2009, 12:55 AM »

Well, I can volunteer to compile the info and send it to him or we can continue working through you, fenix. I don't care if you know my info.

fenixproductions · « **Reply #35 on:** June 16, 2009, 01:00 AM »

I think it's yours decision to spam me

I have nothing against if you neither have. I know it's burning issue so if you want to I can take care of it but please remember that I need all 10 contestants data.

On the other hand: IIRC usually Tuesdays (or maybe Thursdays?) were "the key" days…

cranioscopical · « **Reply #36 on:** June 16, 2009, 01:14 AM »

To: Fenix

Well, I'll PM you my information and then I'm happy to wait until the end of the week to see what happens.
If you end up with everybody's information at the end of the week, and if nobody's had a key by then, perhaps you'd be kind enough to make a gentle overture to Mr Ghisler -- we certainly don't want to make ourselves a nuisance to someone who's been so generous. Nor do we want to annoy you, no matter how much fun that might be

Does that suit everyone?

Innuendo · « **Reply #37 on:** June 16, 2009, 01:38 AM »

Oh, and thanks again for all your work in pulling this off, fenix.

I bet it'll be awhile before you open your mouth to a software author and suggest a software give-away.

Innuendo · « **Reply #38 on:** June 17, 2009, 02:15 PM »

Fenix, you may not have to complete your task at hand after all. I just received an email from Christian requesting my information. I went ahead and sent it on to him.

I too. fenix you were quite right about Tuesdays

fenixproductions · « **Reply #42 on:** June 17, 2009, 03:59 PM »

2cranioscopical
I think I was wrong about "key day". IIRC Tuesdays were in the past the time when Christian take free day from coding, just for forum board posting and personal emails.

I am happy for you, guys.

BTW I had also won my own key in the past but bought few for other people since then

Got mine as well, I feel much better now

.

Thanks to fenix and Christian for making this contest possible

.

I have been happily tweaking away making it look like my old favorite Dos Navigator, here is a screenshot:
