Firefox Addons Developer Guide published
« on: March 11, 2009, 09:07 PM »
The guys at the Mozilla Corporation published today a still unfinished guide for all those who wish to develop a extension for Firefox, but don't know where to start. I ignore if a 3rd party did have something similar, but as far as I know, Mozilla just had a rough number of guidelines that seemed not that helpful to a beginner.

This guide changes all of that, and while many things require fixing, it seems quite comprehensive, even including an appendix to help you choose an appropriate license for the resulting extension. Pretty neat.

Do you mean the ones referenced at the following?

FWIW, I had some luck w/ the first one -- at least I didn't have any difficulty using it to complete the first programming school assignment for an FF extension.  May be it changed?

And speaking of add-ons: Mozilla is organizing an Add-ons Workshop in Berlin, at my precious club c-base!

Naturally I'll be there, but I won't be able to attend. Instead I'll be helping out, like a stage hand. It will still be fun though :) If you are in Berlin around that time, Saturday 28th of March 2009, you should come by!
