We did it...AGAIN!!!

hey mouser if we reach 12,500 dollars are you going to raise the bar again?

momonan · « **Reply #127 on:** March 30, 2009, 04:13 PM »

What a wonderful thing to watch that thermometer break through the goal! Let's pat ourselves on the back for showing mouser the love he deserves for creating such a warm, welcoming, and super wonderful site. We rock!

it's automatic now it's just increasing because i don't know what else to do

mouser · « **Reply #129 on:** March 30, 2009, 04:49 PM »

i've added a new color to the bar and made the displayed goal just the nearest $100 ahead of current.

in other words -- i declare that we have OFFICIALLY crossed the finish line. we've reached our goal. we've put the second layer of icing on the cake. everyone can relax now. there is no further goal post. there is no need for anyone to donate any more unless they feel compelled for other reasons. the thermometer is just going to lead donations now by the nearest $100 -- and that's only because i don't want the mercury to overflow. On April 1st i will freeze the thermometer.

Ill post a longer summary of the fundraiser in april but i just wanted to point out that we've raised enough money just in the fundraiser alone to pay complete hosting and server administration costs for 2 years. DC is not going anywhere!

Skip all that; I say donate now, donate more.
Anything that makes it all easier for all of us.
And there is still the economy to worry about, so a heavy buffer is a better thing.

There is still more than 24 hours left here, and I say Push the limit.

Let's see how far we can go with it.

I say; let us not be done yet

Push folks, push

$13,000.00

I know it is asking a lot, especially with less than 36 hours to go, but wouldn't $15,000.00 be nice?

Apparently there are a lot of folks doing what they can, and I must say it is a better turn out than I had expected, especially with things being tight these days.

I have been a member of this community for a short time, but in that time I now wonder where I was that I was not a member sooner.

I want to thank all of you, not just for donating, but for making this site worth while. A great atmosphere and place where I can find good stuff, good people, and ask questions without embarrassment.

Enough of the mushy stuff

Let's push this thing and see how far it can go

With so much wonderful energy, it seems even Cody is getting into the spirit!!!

Nick just sent me this polaroid photo he snapped of him:

Awww... he's so cute!

mouser · « **Reply #138 on:** March 30, 2009, 11:15 PM »

Looks like he made his cake out of coins to me. Clever bird!

sgtevmckay · « **Reply #139 on:** March 31, 2009, 12:21 AM »

$13,100.00

Let's keep going, if we can

Do mind if I ask...

How much did the site make last month on a generic non-fund-raiser month compared to this month?

Have been watching with interest and admiration.

But I have to say that I'd hate to be a runner in the Mouser 'Mile'

techidave · « **Reply #143 on:** April 01, 2009, 02:08 AM »

I was wondering how many of the 160,000+ users on the site have donated??? couple of thousand?

I did not realize there are so many, if everyone would have just donated $2.......

mouser · « **Reply #145 on:** April 01, 2009, 05:42 AM »

Everyone probably thought the fundraiser was ending today, but I can now announce that I have decided the fundraiser should continue for at least another 60 days. In addition, the entire forum and website will be disabled and instead show an animated banner of cody dancing and begging for coins while background carnival music plays. The forum will return on June 1st or when we raise 1 million dollars, whichever comes later.. thank you for your participation.

sgtevmckay · « **Reply #146 on:** April 01, 2009, 06:42 AM »

Now you lnow that's not going to work, but I Have an Idea.

Official announcement:
I have taken Cody hostage.

Cody will be returned to DC upon the site being donated $1,000,000.00

If theses terms are not met in the next 24 Hours.
I will donate Cody to KFC.

April Fools Everyone.
Thanks for all you have done

mouser · « **Reply #147 on:** April 01, 2009, 06:50 AM »

In all seriousness i feel like there's something i should be doing to celebrate the end of the fundraiser.. something more dramatic..
well it's still running till the end of april 1st so that's still about 22 hours technically before it's over..

sgtevmckay · « **Reply #148 on:** April 01, 2009, 07:08 AM »

By donating, in our own way, we are all celebrating.
Do not worry about it, just do what you all do.
And we will be here.

What more can be done?
Because you do what you do, we have come to celebrate with you

If you want something dramatic, how about something simple?
A scrolling page of the donators, with a simple thank you from Cody.
Nothing fancy, just the user images, and statements, that you have up, but with a scroller (or slide show), with Cody holding a banner that says thanks for your support.
No amounts and no RL Names, as I am sure people have donated what they can, so an equal thanks to everyone for this 4th anniversary, and you can place it a small area of the page header on the right hand side. This will be part of the replacement banner once the thermostat/gage is gone.

By the way;
There is now less than 24 hours or Cody gets it.
Right in the fryer.

So all you out there Donate, and don't stop
