I have a lot of respect for the Cybernet folks, so this makes me very happy and proud.

It's the first day of the Cybernetnews.com 2008 awards and our very own humble DonationCoder.com site has just won the first place award for "Most Useful Forum".

The fact that it's an award honoring everyone on this forum as a community, makes it all the sweeter. It's an appropriate time to say thanks to everyone here for making this a fun and interesting place to hang out. I'm looking forward to the spending the next year with you guys and gals.

If learning about new software is as intriguing to you as it is to me then you’ll surely want to checkout the DoncationCoder forums. With 155,000+ members it’s a place any software lover will want to call home. I’ve found some great freeware apps thanks to this forum, and you’ll be amazed at how much the community is willing to help you out. I’ve even seen some people write up quick programs just to help another member.

I predicted this back in 1999, but you people weren't listening back then.

We know it's a special part of the web. Nice to see others discover the same about DC.

kwacky1 · « **Reply #12 on:** December 30, 2008, 12:24 PM »

well I wasn't a member in 1999, so it must be my presence that tipped us over the line

congrats mouser!

So what do we win? a million dollars? a deluxe mansion? or just bragging rights? i would prefer a million dollars but bragging rights is also good.

superboyac · « **Reply #19 on:** December 30, 2008, 04:16 PM »

Yeah, this place is great. Great job mouser, you are the man.

I'm still amazed by how polite everyone is here...I have never seen that in a forum for this long a time. It's just unheard of.

We win a million deluxe bragging rights and 15% discount on the rental of a small wooden hut.

I'm missing all the action here - *congrats to us* sounds funny all right but, i have to agree -
i.e. it is the "most useful forum" (most helpful, most friendly, etc)

I'm sure there's an ancient chinese quote about leading by example or something like that - if not we'll have to make one up for mouser
Lau Tzu say - good mouser lead by following the great Tao - or, make up yer own!

Fred Nerd · « **Reply #23 on:** January 02, 2009, 03:25 AM »

Good on you, all the info you all freely gave to idiots like me now won you an award.

See, "what you have done to the least of my brothers.................."

You're all legends

Mouser, you get 1st props for the DonationCoder vision.

I know there are many here who help make this place special. See them in post count order:
Donation Coder Supporters

Everyone at DC should be proud of the fine community here.

With this new award we should expect many new members over the next several weeks. I have no worries that we'll all be kind; just remember "Don't feed the trolls."

WAY TO GO DC!!
