Intermittent Hotkey problem on VISTA

Hi,

I recently noticed that, on some occasions, on my VISTA PCs, pressing "pause" doesn't open the search windows.  I usually rely then on the menu tray icon, and it works again fine after.  I never saw this on XP.  Could be a hotkey conflict, but since it works most of the time, it's strange.

That is strange.. anyone else on Vista experiencing this?
You might try changing the trigger hotkey to another key combination and see if that solves it?

I'll try that. I think I have to delete the current assignation, it doesn't seem editable ?

just disable it or leave it and add a new hotkey.

OK, thanks, I'll let you know if that solves the issue (might take some time since it only happens now and then).

I've had a similar(?) thing happen sporadically - I'll start using FARR or autohotkey and all sorts of windows I never intended will start opening.  I have to hit the start key a couple times to "reset" things, then it works again (only happens on Vista)

I have noticed that the hotkey works fine almost (but not always) when the desktop is selected.  When it's another application whose windows has the focus, or other vista items (deskside bar), I think it doesn't work so well.  I have yet to change the hotkey to see if there is an improvement.
