YouTube comments get the xkcd treatment

Apparently the developers at YouTube read web comic xkcd. Before posting a comment on the video sharing site, users now have the option to hear their words in text-to-speech, a feature suggested in a recent installment of the popular online strip.

No word yet from YouTube on the official blog, but it caused at least one user to suspect a virus.

That is hilarious!

EDIT: Here's a screenshot of the person who thought the new feature was a virus.

But they should make it like, "Click here to post comment" or whatever, which then
plays the audio, and then another two buttons come up, asking if you seriously want
to post that comment. That would be pretty epic. Force feeding the spammers' own spam
down their throats? Heck yes. It would be rather inconvenient for the good commenters though...
