TV Characters -- Love / Hate -- By Show

Ok, time for another, "Let's poll the DC people to find out (almost) meaningless stuff!"

So -- By TV show, name characters that you LOVE and that you HATE!

I'll start with a few shows:

Stargate Atlantis:
LOVE: Rodney McKay

1) He's Canadian
2) He's just brilliant!
3) He knows he's brilliant!

HATE: Teyla Emmagan

1) God! She's just annoying! When will they finally kill her off!
2) She makes me want to vomit (see Deanna Troy below)


Reaper:

LOVE: The Devil

1) He's the Devil!
2) He cracks me up!

HATE: None really, but Andi comes close.


And now for the geek-fest-silliness!

Star Trek (TNG):

LOVE: Data

1) He just rocks!
2) He was hilarious in Night Court!
3) Brent Spiner just rules in anything he does --- he really makes the role work!

HATE: Most of the rest of the characters...

1) Worf was a pussy (bad writers for him - he could have been very cool)
2) Deanna was a freak and regularly made me want to vomit
3) Wesley was a weannie
4) Riker was the male freak counterpart of Deanna


Picard was salvation for the rest. He picked up so much slack for so many weak characters. Without Picard, the show would have sucked.


Farscape:

LOVE: All

HATE: None

Just wicked writing for some amazing actors! Ka D'Argo is what Worf should have been.



I tried to pick just 1 for each there. Didn't make it for all of them, but close.

I LOVE Dr. Temperance "Bones" Brennan in (of course) Bones, for being such an unique character in TV series, but I don't think I hate any character in there, all of them are lovable. I also love much of the characters in Futurama, particularly Dr. Zoidberg, but I hate Hermes, just like many other people, it's just such a dull character...

Just like ljbirns, I also like Greg House, but I prefer Dr. Cameron, I think it's because we share some traits (no, being a gorgeous-looking woman it's not one of them ). That's all the ones I can remember off the top of my head, I might add some more later, as other DCers share more of their favourite characters

I can't bring myself to watch them at all, and would have trouble naming any shows let alone people on them.

Love: The Doctor, of course
Hate: Mothers of his assistants (always)
So/So: The Doctor's assistants (I really don't think they ever appreciate the opportunity they've given until it's too late. Which is, incidentally, about the time they stop annoying me)

Seinfeld
Love: George
Hate: Jerry [Seinfeld]

30 Rock
Love: Jack, Liz
Hate: Jerry Seinfeld as Jerry Seined

House
Love: House, Wilson
Hate: Pretty much every one on houses team(s); admittedly Foreman's new-ish role is a bit ok

Torchwood
Love: Jack (Most of the time, when he's not pining after someone)
Hate: Owen (Emo kid playing it off as angry and self-important)

Allen, have to fully agree with The Doctor & Jack there. But I do hate the gay love scene things in Torchwood. I just don't care for them much. It's funny that you should mention the mothers -- they can be very annoying.

James Marsters did an appearance on Torchwood --- Loved him there. He always pulls things off so well. Fantastic actor.
