ShareX Portable
« on: September 22, 2014, 09:41 PM »
Hi,

I'm using SC (4.8.5) and ShareX Portable (9.3.1). I've ticked 'Use ShareX uploader' under the tools menu in SC, but it doesn't seem to be using it (I assume this is because there is no registry information to help SC connect to ShareX).

What would be the correct way of pointing SC to ShareX Portable?

Thanks

try putting it in the screenshot captor Tools directory, like so:

ScreenshotCaptor\Tools\ShareX\ShareX.exe or ScreenshotCaptor\Tools\ShareX\ShareXMod.exe

let me know if that works.

Sorry, I forgot to get back to you, but that has done the trick. I found your readme's once I got to that directory as well, sorry!

I use a portable version of EasyScreencastRecorder and I see there is a folder for that in the SC tools directory as well, I assume the process is similar, move the root files for ESR to ScreenshotCaptor\Tools\EasyScreencastRecorder?
I'll give that a whirl and get back to you if there are any issues.

Thanks for the great software! I only just came across it, but so far I'm very impressed with it. Thanks also for your very prompt response.

Regarding Easy Screencast Recorder: Yep, same deal, and Screenshot Captor should pick up that you have ESR automatically, as it has a tool for it that should show up in Tools menu.
SC can work with the video files from ESR and let you extract image frames easily, etc.

SC doesn't appear to have auto detected ESR the way it did with ShareX.

I have all the root files for ESR in:
ScreenshotCaptor\Tools\EasyScreencastRecorder

Along with the file:
EasyScreencastRecorder.sctool

Is there something else I have missed there?

try this for me, open up the .sctool in a text editor, and add this to bottom:

title = Easy Screencast Recorder
app = %THISDIR%\EasyScreencastRecorder.exe
params = -dir "%folder%"
iconfile =

then restart screenshot captor.
